I bought this fan because I like the style of tower fans, it comes with a remote control, and it was reasonably priced.  I have multiple sclerosis and suffer from extreme heat intolerance, so fan-shopping is something I do quite often.  I have nine fans in my condo and this one is the best one by far!  It's a pretty powerful fan, and the three settings make it useful for whatever the temperature.  It doesn't take up much space and has a nice sleek look to it.  I absolutely LOVE the handle in back... it makes it SO easy to bring it with me from room to room!  Probably the best thing about it is that it's incredibly silent!  If it wasn't for the blowing air, I wouldn't even know that it's on!  I wish my other eight fans were this quiet!  I would definitely recommend this fan.  It cost a little more than I would have liked to spend (because I'm cheap), but it has proved to be very worth the expense.

My sister bought theHolmes Tower Fan HT38R for me as a birthday present a year ago.  I like the fan because it's sleek and doesn't take up a lot of space.  The fan actually blends in well to it's surroundings.  The air flow is great and successfully reaches all corners of the room.  I like the various settings.  What I dislike is that this fan has a clicking sound that gives the impression that the spinning mechanisms are not secure.  Also, the fan is not quiet; you know when it's on and have to adjust TV or music levels to cover up the sound of the fan.  Lastly, the fan is really hard to clean when dust builds up.  I spent an hour trying to clean it and there were places I couldn't get to.
