I have had 2 of these fans in my son's room for more than a year. He has a stuffy room with no cross ventilation and these fans help quite a bit. I am sure I could make do with just one of them, but having to two on opposite sides of his room makes sleeping more comfortable. The house has air conditioning but some of the rooms arent as cool as others or are just stuffy. A fan really helps cool off the room and move the AC around the house more efficiently. On days that are not quite warm enough to turn on the AC these fans really make sleeping bearable.I have them set at opposite sides of the room but I keep meaning to wall mount them. An excellent feature! There is some fan noise but truthfully, it drowns out noise coming from outside his room and I think the *white-noise* quality of it helps him sleep. The loudness of the noise is based on the fan setting.For the price...this is a great fan. And the size is perffect for small rooms. Add that you can wall mount it and you have an excellent product.

The Holmes Blizzard desk fan really moves the air around, especially when it oscillates.  It helps me stay cool in bed at night, even when my air conditioner is set at 80 degrees to save electricity.  During the day, by using the fan while sitting near a window, I can sometimes leave the air conditioning off, saving even more money.  It turns easily without any squeaks or squeals, but the forceful blowing does make a lot of noise.  Even on the lowest speed it sometimes disturbs my sleep, but being hot disturbs my rest even worse.  The force of the air can blow light objects like papers off the desk or table, and can rattle window blinds and shake out curtains from their tie-backs.  I personally try to only use the Blizzard during the day, when I don't have to try to sleep.  I use a lighter, whisper-quiet fan for night time, even though it squeaks more and having two fans takes up twice the room.  If not for the noisy air, the Blizzard would be an ideal anytime fan.

Well, the answer is to boost the breeze with a small personal electric fan, and the Holmes Blizzard HLSHAOF87BLZUC table fan is a nice little solution. This is a two speed fan that can be set to stationary or osscilating modes with the push of a button. It is perfect for moving around stale air or adding a little boost to your air conditioning in those hard-to-reach corners of the room. The only drawback that I have found so far is that sometimes it would be nice to have a third speed, something that is "just right" when using it by my bedside to add freshness to the hot summer nights. But still a great little unit!

The Holmes HAOF87 or "Lil' Blizzard" as it is labeled on the box is a great budget fan. I have gone through at least 3 cheap electric fans over the years due to the hot Southern California weather, but this one has lasted the longest. Other fans will warp and the plastic covers will fall off or something similar, but this fan has stayed strong. Although a little loud, I found this particular fan convenient in size and power. It has multiple features such as varying speeds, oscillation, and a solid base which makes it a hard product to criticize. I have also seen it used at many offices such as my dentist's and some doctor's offices so they must also feel the same way about this product. The sturdy, durable frame of this table fan makes this product a good buy in my opinion.

This fan delivers a cool breeze for this type of table fan. I've had 2 big standing fans that didn't last that long. I am still using this fan right now in this hot SoCal weather and I have been using this fan for several years. This table fan does not take up that much space compared to those big standing fans. This fan works best for a small to medium size bedroom. The fan rotates to deliver air flow throughout the room and can be locked to just one position if needed. You can adjust the height and has three different speeds: low, medium, and high. However, if the heat in your room reaches to a really hot temperature with no cool air flow, this fan by itself will not be able to keep you cool and will only deliver a small breeze. I would recommend this fan if you are just looking for a small fan for cheap to give you that cool breeze but in really hot weather I would recommend the more expensive ones.

I run a fan constantly in my bedroom because our old 1950s era house doesn't have ceiling fans. Sure, we have central air and run that, but you need air flow to combat the South Florida heat. I'm also running 2 massive computers, a TV, and multiple game consoles in here, so things get quite warm, especially with east-facing windows in the morning. Anyway, so my old fan died and I replaced it with this one. So far I'm content enough with it, puts out great air flow with 3 speeds, never really have to up it to 3, 1 is just fine almost all the time. The biggest issue is that it runs a bit loud. Luckily I'm a heavy sleeper, so I can run it no problem overnight, but if you're not a fan of white noise or can't sleep unless it's dead quiet, this is not the fan for you. Otherwise, it's great. I believe it comes in more than just black, but I wasn't picky for colors. It's a bit heavy, but I'd suppose that's good, harder to knock over. Long enough cord, sturdy base...hopefully this one lasts me as long as my last one.
