We have one of these heaters in our kids' room and have had it there for about three years. They're on the lower level of the house, which is especially cool in the winter months. Rather than heat up a big part of the basement, we opted for this space heater. It is a little hard to adjust the temperature, as you have to push one button repeatedly to get it to your desired setting. I found out after using it for several months that to turn it off you simply have to depress the button for a few seconds, rather than pushing it several times to scroll through all the settings. The fan run quietly, and the heater turns itself off once the room gets to the desired temperature. Safety UPDATE: When our room was very quiet, I heard a strange humming noise and discovered it coming from this heater. I went to unplug it and the plug was very warm. I know you're not supposed to leave space heaters in, but in the case you forget this didn't seem very safe to me.

We purchased this the first winter after my daughter was born. Living in MN, her room seemed to never be warm enough and I was concerned about her getting cold at night. We have it set for 65 degrees on low every night and it stays perfect in her room. It turns off if it has reached the desired temperature so it is not constantly running. It is also fairly quiet. It does not bother my daughter at all. It is a smaller room, so it may not be as useful for large rooms. We will be purchasing another one or two shortly to use in our newly finished basement. We have used this for three winters now and have no issues. We are very pleased with this product and would recommend it for anyone with children as some others are unsafe. Performance It works well and does not constantly run when not needed. Ease of Use It is pretty strait forward to use. High and Low settings and temperature settings are easy for even visitors to figure out. Durability After three years, it still runs the same as it did the day we purchased it. Design We like the simple and small design. Safety It has been very safe for our daughter which is one of the main reasons we purchased this particular space heater.

I've always used these space heaters. Have this one running right now in my office. We have lots of windows so my area gets quite cold while other areas are quite warm. I use this heater so that my co-workers don't have to sweat to death!

We use this heater in our main bedroom. It works very effectively at keeping the room at an acceptable temperature, and it doesn't seem to use quite as much electricity as older electric space heaters tend to use. I especially like that the heater has different settings. It has both high and low, and also has different settings to get it to turn on when the room reaches a certain temperature. I find that keeping mine set to the 70 degrees setting keeps our bedroom at about a 65-68 degree temperature, which is just perfect. The heater does make a little noise when it comes on, but we are used to it, and the white noise helps my baby sleep.

I actually did not purchase this Holmes space heater, rather a co-worker gave it to me when she realized how cold my office was! This is a handy, effective little heater! I keep it under or near my desk through the winter, since I can't control the heat in my office. The cord is long enough to move it around my office if necessary, and it heats up the space very quickly (in fact, sometimes I get too hot right away and have to turn it down or off - this is an ok problem to have in my opinion!). The machine is easy to control if you want to fan on high or low, and as mentioned, the small size is perfect for an office area. I can't say how it would work in a larger space, or what it does to the electric bills, but for my use, it is just what I wanted. My only complaint is that I find the fan/blower to be a little bit loud, though this may just be due to whatever it experienced in its past life with my colleague! The volume is not enough of a problem for me to not recommend this item - it's just what you need for those chilly work days! Safety Turns itself off when it gets too hot or reaches a particular temperature.

We live in an area that is cold most of the time. While we have central air it gets hard to keep the feet warm while at the desk or even while watching a movie. The Holmes portable heater comes in handy - light-weight, excellent out-put and a nice range of temperatures are available on the unit. The unit is strong enough to heat up an entire room that has drafts or just needs a little extra warmth while you are there without having to heat up the entire house. I wouldn't recommend using this where it can be easily knocked over as that would present a fire hazard and it is light-weight enough to get knocked over easily. This unit is typically inexpensive and does a good job.

I use this heater every morning while I take my shower. It heats up a small bathroom quickly. Performance This heater heats up in a matter of minutes and warms a small room quickly and efficiently. I didn't notice any increase in my electric bill after using this heater every day for both my husband and my showers. I don't think it would work as well in a large room though. Ease of Use This heater is easy to use - you can set it to high or low so it couldn't be any simpler. The low setting shuts the heater off once the room gets to a certain temperature. Durability I've had our heater for five years now and it's still going strong. Design It's small and white so it matches any decor and fits well on a bathroom sink.

This heater does a very good job of heating small spaces. I purchased this heater for my office which is near the door and often is very drafty. The only negative I have noticed is the sound can be somewhat overwhelming at times. Often when it is on and I have a phone call or video conference I have to turn it off to be able to conduct business. It has more than one heat setting which is nice for days of different temperatures. With out this heater I would freeze every day at work! I would recommend this heater for anyone who needs to heat a space that is conducive to a semi-loud heater that does a great job of keeping you warm.

Keep away from children and pets though, all space heaters! Don't want a fire! Performance great performance and not too loud either! Ease of Use very easy use with the design of the buttons and style of the heater...! Durability very durable, should last me a very long time! Design very nice design, cute and not too big so when its in the room you can hide it. Safety all space heaters are dangerous! keep out of reach of children and pets when in use and not! Fires can start so easily if tipped over! I've heard about MANY doing that :(

It is an ok heater but seems to make my power bill higher when I run it. Performance The performance is not as good as I thought it would be. I bought it to warm my bathroom. It seems to warm up some but it seems to pull a lot of electricity. It might be alright for a small area, a real small area but I would not recommend it for room warmth. I feel there are some portable heaters that would be better. Ease of Use It is easy to use. Simple on and off switch. Durability I had two of them and one quit working after a short time. I probably would not purchase this portable heater again. Design The design is ok but nothing to write home about. Safety It seems to be safe but I do not have any small children around.
