Holmes HCH4051W Ceramic Compact Heater —
In our efforts to have our most frequently used rooms maintain a comfortable temperature, my husband went shopping for a compact heater for our main bathroom, which is located off the hall in our house. This bathroom has one wall that faces the exterior of the house and it is really cold on mornings when the temperature gets down in the 30's. We needed a small heater for early morning useage and for when company comes over. You cant send a guest to the restroom to get frozen to the toilet seat!

This is a very compact heater and I would not have expected it to put out much heat if it wasn't a ceramic heater. That being said, the Holmes Compact Ceramic Heater, Model #HCH4051W puts out a lot of heat compared to its size. The heater measures approximately 9 inches in height by 7 inches in width and 7 inches in depth.
The Holmes Compact Ceramic Heater, Model #HCH4051W has two control knobs on the top of the heater. One knob is the temperature control which can be set from one to six levels of hat. The other knob is the seting for the motor. You can set it to fan only or a choice of low heat, medium heat or high heat.
Since this compact heater puts out fan forced heat, it warms up a small room very quickly. One of the features I like is the automatic safety shut off. The heater will shut off if it ever over heats. So far this hasn't happened to us. You must reset the temperature if the automatic shut off occurs.

The Holmes Ceramic Heater has exceeded our expectations for such a small heater. It only takes 5 minutes to raise the temperature to a semi-comfortable level and 10 minutes to reach a very comfortable level. The fan forced air is adequate and will work in any small room or area like under a desk.
I like the fact that the heater is small. It fits into a corner of our bathroom and doesn't take up much room. The housing of the heater is white which doesn't stand out or look bad in the bathroom. The white color is versatile and blends with any color we may choose when the room is redecorated.
Another feature that is appreciated is the automatic shut off when the unit overheats. This hasn't happened, but since we live in a house made of cypress and cedar, this feature is a good one to have. Every bit of precaution is appreciated when it comes to fire prevention.
The one thing that the Holmes Compact Ceramic Heater, Model #HCH4051W does not have is a carry handle on top of it to make it easier to carry from the closet to where you want to set it up or from room to room. This would be a nice feature to add to an updated model.
