We took our first cruise on this ship and we really loved it. — The people on board were very friendly and did whatever they could to please you. Basically you feel pampered from beginning to end. — We took a cruise because a lot of collegues had indicated that they preferred taking a cruise above any other way of taking a vacation. Although I have gone on several cruise lines I find that one of the better cruises I have been on is a Holland America Caribbean cruise. The staff is most willing to accommodate someone of limited mobility or abilities. There is much to do on the ship including sitting on a deck chair and watching the world go by. Its one of the most relaxing experiences I've ever had.  I love to cruise. I have been on 11 cruises and 5 different cruise lines. Holland America's ship the Westerdam is one of their best. All of the Holland ships rate 5 stars in dining, but I believe the Westerdam served some of the finest meals from Breakfast and lunch on the Lido deck to dinner in the main dining room. We ate at the second sitting for dinner  6:15 P.M.which was perfect, not to early 500P.M. or not to late at 8:30 P.M. This allowed us plenty of time to partake in all the ship's activities.
