Cruising to Alaska on Holland America's Statendam got all positive reviews from our Viewpoint cruisers. They commented on the great food and wonderful Children’s program. It should be noted that the staff was attentive to wheelchair guests and their needs. One first time cruiser wasn't impressed with the buffet but did enjoy the saunas and spa stating they "Can't wait to go on another cruise with this company!”

Wonderful experience

This was my first cruise. My husband and i went to ALaska for our honeymoon. I think we may be spoiled now with how great things were on this cruise. From the crew, to the shows, to the fun little bars, to all the things to do both on and off ship, we had a wonderful time. The food was always there. I wasn't totally thrilled with the buffet style food as it was reminiscent of cafeteria food. However the main dining room and the smaller restaurant were outstanding! I also found out how great saunas and steam rooms are. Can't wait to go on another cruise with this company!

The Holland America Staatendam 7 day cruise to Alaska was very very nice. The ship is a little older and could probably use a refurbishing, but it didn't bother us. The shows were excellent as was the food. There is a nice walking track around the ship and the ports of call were all excellent. I am not a big shopper so the emphasis on shopping was a bit of a drag for us. IT was OK, though, as we headed out on our own to find our own spots of interest. We were successful so that is what was important.

I had an excellent time on this cruise. I went with someone in a wheelchair, and all the crew and help were very helpful. The people in charge of the childrens program were very good with children, and very acomadating. All in all it was a wonderful time, and I'd do it again in a second!
