I buy my family good stuff or we make things too but I have a naughty little habit.I will wait and take my kids after the christmas holiday is over out to buy the more expensive gifts.I can negotiate really well for better deals by convincing the seller someone else has it cheaper so they end up saleing the marked down item  with more off and we get all the cool high tech gadgets and home stuff for over more than half off.Anyone else guilty of this one?

I went out day after christmas and compleateed my shopping for the next year. I was so excited and spent half of what I would have before christmas. Just dont buy food items. If you get the gift things cheap that come with food, but a basket and use the stuff (not food) to make a nice gift.

I usually get all my holiday shopping done by Thanksgiving so it's not usually an issue.  But I have been known to wait til after Christmas to pick up gifts for people I know I won't see until after the holiday to save some $$$.  My friend Samantha and I always get together for lunch and a movie during the week between Xmas & the new year so I stop in at LUSH on the way and get her a bunch of stuff for half off.  It allows me to get her a lot more with my $20 than if I buy before Xmas.

I do that too, I call it "taking a snowcheck" (instead of taking a "raincheck", get it?).  I do that with a couple of my friends.  It's great to exchange gifts and celebrate when we can relax a little more and the main event is over.

I used to buy wrapping paper, ribbons, etc for the next year when I had a lot of gifts to buy. It isn't a big deal any more though.

I always shop for stuff after the holidays.  Why pay full price, when you can get it for almost half, or less? At least my kids can get some of the things that I couldn,t buy befor the holidays.
