Holiday Guides

It's easy for me to know exactly what gift to get every man on my Nice List this holiday season (though there is always time for them to move to the Naughty list), but, unfortunately, not everyone was born a "guy gifts" genius like me. That's why I'm here to offer gift ideas for him so you can pamper, spoil and surprise the men in your life and give them their dream gifts.

Have a dad who loves to listen to tunes while mowing the lawn but his FM/AM radio is outdated? Need something for the boyfriend who dresses better than you do? Want to help outfit the brother who spends his life going from the gym to his bed? Get my expert opinion and gift ideas by checking out the list below for my favorite Christmas gifts for him this year and get something special for the men, the boys, and the men who still act like boys in your life.

Gifts for Him - Gifts for Business/Tech Savvy/Gadget Geek Guys:

  • Logitech MX Revolution Mouse: Men drool over this high tech gem. Logitech's MX Revolution Mouse offers new controls, including hyper-speed scrolling and a quick-flip thumb wheel. Logitech also added click-to-click scrolling that allows easy navigation of lists, slides and images. Logitech's MX Revolution Mouse is sure to inspire even the most technologically intimidated man. (Bonus: Imagine how easy click-to-click scrolling will make online comparison shopping for you!) - $67.00-$118.28
  • Flip Video Camcorder: Toss his old handheld camera in the trash and have him record all of life's moments on the pocket-sized FLIP Video Camcorder from Pure Digital Technologies. The FLIP Video Camcorder family has three different types: the Mino, Ultra or Video. Every FLIP Video Camcorder can capture up to 60 minutes worth of footage and comes in a variety of colors. There's a different FLIP Video Camcorder that will satisfy every man on your list. - $109.99-$118.32
  • iPod Interface - car: If you know a driver who's tired of surfing through radio stations to find their favorite music, then it's time to invest in a USA SPEC iPod Interface for them. The iPod Interface connects directly to the stereo system of a vehicle, allowing the driver to control, charge and play their iPod from the system. The owner of a USA SPEC iPod Interface will have their favorite music always at their fingertips and will never have to station surf again! - prices vary, based on vehicle model and installation
  • Seagate 500 GB External Hard Drive: Did a recent computer crash destroy important documents, projects and a lifetime of digital photo memories? Prevent more panicking and heartache and give him a Seagate 500 GB External Hard Drive. The small, portable hard drive can be used with either a PC or a Mac, and can be connected to a computer via a high-speed USB 2.0 cable. He'll never worry about losing another document again, and he'll also have more space on his computer for fun computer games. - $99.99-$139.99
  • XM Satellite Radio: If your favorite morning commuter enjoys talk shows but wants to control the type of chit-chat he's hearing, then invest in an XM Satellite Radio for him. XM Satellite Radio plays commercial free music from every genre, plus exclusive concerts, original music series and sports coverage. News channels including CNN, CSPAN, CNBC and BBC also have their own broadcasts. XM Satellite Radio is the perfect gift for any driver. - $7.99-$16.99 per month
  • Samsung Blu-Ray and HD DVD Player: Old favorites and new movies alike are reborn when viewed and heard from an HD player. The Samsung Blu-Ray and HD DVD Player gives movie-watchers the capability of watching Blu-Ray as well as regular DVD and CD formatted discs. Imagine how great Carrie Bradshaw's Manolo Blahniks will look in HD. This gift is a win-win for you and your man! - $999.99
  • Apple iPhone 3G: The Apple iPhone just got two times faster with the 3G generation. The Apple iPhone 3G network lets users simultaneously access data and voice, so they can talk on the phone while surfing the web or using the built-in GPS system. Gaming is also available through the new App Store, so pick up an iTunes gift certificate and give him the gift of iPhone gaming, too. The Apple iPhone 3G also has a sleeker style, lighter weight and better audio quality than it's 2G predecessor. - $199.00
  • Bose In-Ear Headphones: Isn't it about time he got rid of his oversized headphones and tried some new in-ear headphones? My personal favorite is the Bose In-Ear Headphones. They fit snugly inside your ear and block out all background noise. The earphone covers come in three sizes, making it easy to find the best fit for your ears. Bose In-Ear Headphones have better sound quality so music comes through clearer. I just throw them in my ear and turn my iPod on any time I want to block out the sound of Mrs. Clause's vacuuming. - $99.99
  • Nintendo DS: The Nintendo DS is a portable, handheld game unit unique to other systems of its kind for its two screens. Nintendo DS games are designed to incorporate both screens; gamers often have to touch, draw or blow on the screen in order to play a game. Traditional buttons and controls are used as well. Best of all, Gameboy Advance games are compatible with a Nintendo DS, but I'd suggest starting him off with Brain Age and Mario Kart for Nintendo DS. It's true that he probably doesn't need another videogame system, but he'll think of you fondly after opening a box containing one. - $109.00-$225.00
  • Geek Monthly subscription: Need I say more? Anything geeky is in Geek Monthly. There's toys, TV shows, movies, DVDs and news. Every single geek needs Geek Monthly. Oh, just so you know, by subscribing to Geek Monthly that makes you a geek, too, so be sure to borrow his copy when he's done with it. - $19.99 per year

Gifts for Him - Gifts for the Stylish Man

  • D&G Homme Eau de Toilette: Take the Axe Effect out of his stocking and slip in some Dolce and Gabanna Pour Homme Eau de Toilette instead. The scent combines orange, lemon, lavender, sage and cedar smells to produce a subtle yet delicious scent. It's the perfect stocking stuffer surprise. Mrs. Clause is a huge fan! - $32.00-$70.00
  • Braun Tassimo Espresso Machine: The Braun Tassimo Espresso Machine makes the perfect hot beverage every time. Its T-disc system with barcode technology adds the proper amount of hot water to your cup to help prevent spills and overflowing cups. Plus, you only have to wait about one minute for your morning caffeine rush versus pushing through long lines and rifling through your wallet at Starbucks. I even have one installed in my sleigh! - $169.99
  • Designer Jeans: Seven For All Mankind jeans play an essential role in the closet of any well-dressed man. They're easy to dress up or down, are available in a variety of cuts and colors, and wash well time and again without shrinking or looking over worn. Did I mention they're as soft as butter? A pair of 7 For All Mankind jeans will make an immediate fashion statement for your man. - prices vary
  • Philips Norelco 8150 XL Electric Razor: I may have a long, lustrous beard in December, but come June it's time for me to pull my Philips Norelco 8150 XL Electric Shaver out of the bathroom closet for a summer shave. I can use it with or without a cord, it's easy to replace the blades and it's simple to clean. The shaver holds its charge for up to a month, too, so recharging it regularly isn't necessary. Take this advice from a man who knows about facial hair: don't pass up the chance to give someone the Philips Norelco 8150 XL. - $59.95-$89.95
  • Timbuk2 Messenger Bag: I use my favorite knapsack for delivering gifts one night year, but when I run into bad weather and need a dependable, water-resistant bag I grab my Timbuk2. There are various sizes and styles to suit every personality, and you can even design your own bag with multiple prints or colors. He'll be sure to trade in his briefcase for his Timbuk2 in no time. $90.00-$130.00
  • Brooks Brothers non-Iron Dress Shirt: Who wants to wake up fifteen minutes earlier than necessary to iron their dress shirt before work? I know I don't, which is why I've recommended Mrs. Clause splurge on a Brooks Brothers Non-Iron Dress Shirt for me. Three different fits (traditional, slim and luxury) ensure that she'll find the right size for my big belly, and the rainbow of colors are sure to match my red suit. I know every man would enjoy at least one Brooks Brothers Non-Iron shirt for his wardrobe. - $79.50-$135.00
  • Maxim subscription: I've always found the articles and advice in Maxim informative and fun. A subscription to Maxim may be just the inspiration your man needs to revamp his wardrobe or catch up on the latest entertainment, sports or health news. No matter what his interests, he'll find something to grab his attention every time he opens the front cover. - $10.00 per year
  • Designer Watch: Make sure your man is never late for an important date (with you or anyone else) again! He'll be happy to wear the Citizen Eco Drive Titanium watch with every piece of his wardrobe. I suggest the Movado Amorosa watch or the Citizen Eco Drive Titanium watch. The Citizen Eco Drive Titanium watch is solar powered, so he'll never need to change the battery. - $99.95-$309.00

Gifts for Him - Gifts for the Athlete/Macho Man

  • Sportz Dome to Go: Your man will love that you embrace his love of the great outdoors when you give him the Sportz Dome to Go. The Sportz Dome to Go acts as a stand alone tent or as an add-on to the trunk of a vehicle. A large entrance door and no-see-um mesh windows bring added convenience and comfort to the 4-5 person sleeping room. Even the Abominable Snowman fits in the Sportz Dome to Go! - $199.99
  • Personalized Golf Balls: I can't count the number of times I've lost my golf ball on the golf course. Mrs. Clause helped solve that crisis by giving me one dozen personalized golf balls for my birthday last year. I recommend modifying the colors, logos and monograms for a truly personalized and eclectic look. - prices vary
  • iPod Shuffle: Help Dad, your brother or your boyfriend with his lawn-mowing duties and entertain him with the iPod Shuffle. The iPod Shuffle is simple to use and easy to carry around because of its built-in clip, so he can stop worrying about dropping his larger Disman or iPod in the grass and mowing over it. Yet another crisis averted! - $64.99
  • Sports Watch: Marathon and recreational runners alike will appreciate a heart rate monitor. The Polar RS400sd Heart Rate Monitor lets runners program training regimens and exercise phases. There's also a Sport Zone program that ensures the runner meets his target heart rates in each workout zone. He'll have no excuse not to get off the couch to go burn off those holiday cookie calories. - $269.95-$324.97
  • Cleveland Halo Hybrid Golf Club: A Cleveland Halo Hybrid is a cross between a fairway wood or metal club and a long iron club. It's a very versatile club and can be used off the tee, in the rough or on the green. It does everything for a golfer... except guarantee a lower score! That may require some practice. - prices vary
  • Reebok Dumbbells: Reebok dumbbells are dipped in neoprene, a synthetic rubber, which make them easier to grip and resistant to hand sweat. Like most dumbbells, Reebok's are available in different weights, but unlike most other brands, Reebok dumbbells are squared off at the end and not round so they do not roll across the floor when set down. Make sure to catch your guy checking out his new muscles in the mirror after he uses his Reebok dumbbells. - prices vary (about $2.00/pound)
  • Bowflex Blaze Home Gym: A Bowflex Home Gym provides everything your man will need to get in to great physical condition. The Bowflex Blaze uses 210 pounds (upgrade to 310 or 410 pounds) from the Bowflex power rod system to tone and strengthen his body. The Bowflex Blaze is capable of performing over 60 exercises that will work his back, arms, abs, legs, chest and more. This home gym is so great that you'll probably join in on the fun, too. - $899.00
  • Sports Illustrated subscription: Although Sports Illustrated won't give him exercise advice or get him in to great shape, it will keep him well informed on the world of sports. Sports Illustrated's sophisticated reporting and writing make it a leader in sports news. It's a necessary addition to the magazine rack at home. Your man will be particularly thankful when the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition hits his mailbox. - $30 for 56 weekly issues

Gifts for Him - Gifts for Any Guy

  • Cobra Radar Detector: Sometimes it's hard to control Rudolph when he gets excited about delivering gifts, so when I feel nervous about getting a speeding ticket I'll bring out my Cobra Radar Detector. The Cobra XRS 9430 Radar Detector has voice alerts and a 12-band coverage providing 360-degree detection of all types of laser guns. Now if only there was a solution for avoiding Mrs. Clause on one of her bad days... - $77.75-$99.99
  • Mirage 19 Piece BBQ Set: Grilling aficionados cannot be without the ultimate BBQ tool set. The Mirage 19 Piece BBQ Set includes one spatula, one tong, eight corncob holders, six skewers, one large fork, one baster brush and one aluminum case to carry everything in. The Ariens 1028 Snow Thro Snowblower eat through ice and snow as if it's just brushing leaves off the sidewalk in the fall. No one sees as much snow as I do, but for those in cold, snowy regions it's essential to pick up an Ariens Snowblower. You won't survive winter without one. - prices vary
