Mt Vernon Holiday Inn was very accomodating and comfortable. The young lady that checked us in was very professional and knowledgeable. She called us 15 minutes after we checked in just to make sure everything was ok and to see if they could do anything for us. The sports bar/grill serves excellent food. My husband said the steak sandwich was the best he ever ate. Rooms are well stocked with ammenities. One free breakfast buffet with stay which was very good. The Hoilday Inn in Mt. Vernon, IL is one of the better hotels that I have stayed in. The staff was very pleasent and the hotel was very clean. The rooms are spacious and it is only about an hour from downtown St. Louis so lots of things to do and my daughter enjoyed the pool after a warm day of walking around the St. Louis Zoo.Dining: Short Drive, No matter what your in the mood for it is there.
