The Fort Lauderdale Holiday Inn Express was a very convenient place to stay before an early AM flight from the airport. I had called the hotel to verify that I could have a late checkin, and they gave me good driving directions from I-595. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, my room was clean and comfortable, and I was given a good recommendation for dinner at a near-by restaurant. There is a small shopping strip across from the hotel if any last-minute items need to be purchased. The Holiday Inn Express air/Seaport was a great place to stay. A few miles from the air port with a complimentary shuttle. The rooms were nicely done with a few unexpected "perks" like a bowed shower bar that gave you a bit more room(I'm getting one for the house)and a magnifing mirror in the bath. The mini fridge and miro-wave was a nice touch. The breakfast was good and the hot stuff was hot and the cold stuff was cold. Lots to chose from. Check in and out was fast and easy. This Holiday Inn Express Air/Sea Port was the best option for a very late check in and very early check out pre cruise hotel. It is less than 5 minutes from the Ft. Lauderdale airport and just another 5 minutes from the port. we would highly recommend this hotel for fast stays - you can find better accomodations - but not worth the money you would pay for just an overnight stay! The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was convenient and above other Holiday Inn standards. We attended a wedding nearby and this hotel was close to everything for us. It was very easy to get to from the airport. There were restaurants all around us for every type of meal you would need. The room was large, the tv was a good size. The sitting area was also nice since I am an early riser and didn't have to wake my husband when I wanted to read. I stayed at this hotel both before and after a cruise. It was in a great location, fairly new and good staff. On my second stay, I was given a room (non-smoking) in which someone had obviously and continually smoked. I alerted the staff and they immediately tried to remedy the problem. Eventually I was given a new room with not even a hint of cigarette smoke. The complimentary brerakfast was a delightful bonus. Allowed us to stay in lobby until time to leave for ship. Had friendly shuttle service to ship. Several families were with us and all had good experiences. I would definitely stay there again. Restaurants within walking distance as well as food store. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but a continental breakfast is available each day which we did not participate in so cannot rate.Dining: Short Walk, German and Chinese restaurants as well as McDonalds within short walking distance. We had reserved three rooms for the night before our cruise. We had two daughter's, their husbands and five grand children with us. The grand children liked the pool and breakfast buffet. The rooms were nice and clean and well furnished. The hotel provided transportation from the airport to the hotel and to the ship pier the next morning. The Holiday Inn Express was convenient to the airport and the port. It was close to fast food restaurants but had to close the highway to get to them without a crosswalk.
