The Fort Lauderdale Holiday Inn Express was a very convenient place to stay before an early AM flight from the airport. I had called the hotel to verify that I could have a late checkin, and they gave me good driving directions from I-595. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful, my room was clean and comfortable, and I was given a good recommendation for dinner at a near-by restaurant. There is a small shopping strip across from the hotel if any last-minute items need to be purchased. I had to leave too early to take advantage of the included breakfast, but it looked like they had nice facilities for that as well. In the morning, I asked at the desk for the best way to get to the airport, and found that I could drive there in just a few minutes without having to get back on the expressway.

Dining: Short Walk, Although restaurants are located close by, the traffic on the busy highway in front of the hotel might make driving a safer option than walking.
