I have used some other HoMedic products in the past and liked most of them. This one worked well also. The HoMedic Spa Relaxation Sound Machine has lasted us for awhile. There are a variety of sounds on this machine from the ocean, waterfalls, the rainforest and more. The volume can be loud or quiet. I babysit a little toddler age boy from time to time and when he takes his naps this goes on. It blocks out the noise from what's going on downstairs and gives him a nice long nap to get him refreshed for the rest of the day. I put him down once without it and he woke up in a lot shorter of a time from hearing my other kids downstairs. This is also just relaxing to fall asleep to. I really like that this has a timer on it if you don't want to leave it on all night. You can set the timer and know that it will turn off itself and that it won't be on until the morning. The sounds are nice, soothing and help after a stressful day. I like this product and it has held up for a while. It is made well!

I just received this sound machine for Christmas and I'm so in love with it. It has helped me relax before I go to sleep so that I CAN go to sleep. The sounds are realistic and not annoying like some other machines that sound fake and more like processed food. The price was great for the options of sounds. The machine is also lightweight and easy to grip so that I can move it from room to room if I like. This machine offers Thunder and rain, rain, brrok and white noise. I need to sleep with a fan and if I lose the fan for some reason white noise on my sound machine will make a good replacement. This also has a timer so that if I do fall asleep while the sound machine is on it won't stay on all night. I m so excited about this product and would recommend this product to everyone. The husband and I fell asleep to this machine after our Christmas dinner. great item for napping to.

I hesitate to rate it Satisfactory because out of the 3 we had, one has already been replaced with a different brand, and a second is soon to be. We loved this at first; the sound quality was great. After about 3 or 4 years, though, our first one began muting randomly. It wouldn't work at certain volumes very well, and it was more frustrating than helpful. We just replaced that one with a different brand. Our second one began doing this after about 3 years as well. Soon enough we will replace that one with a different brand as well. The third one we have is still under a year old, and it works fine. SO... I would say if you need this for only occasional or short-term use, it's great. If you want it to last several years, I 'd go with a different brand.

I have had to replace this twice in two years, but while it works the sound is perfect! I keep it in my daughter's room and it drowns out the outside noise so that outside sounds and neighbors don't wake her up at night. It's not too loud, and there are plenty of sound choices although we always keep it on the white noise setting. The problem is that after about 6 months the sound seems to start cutting out, it will randomly turn off while the setting is still on. At first it only happens sparingly, but after about a year with both of our previous two machines it's a constant issue and we need to replace it, although for the price and how well it works in that time we will continue to buy this same machine. Another thing that I like about this sound machine is that the volume is adjustable. We generally keep the volume on high so that our daughter doesn't wake up, but sometimes it's nice to be able to keep it lower. Overall, I would recommend it.

Overall the sound machine works well and I've been happy with it. There is a good variety of sounds. You can choose to leave it on or to set a timer. If you set the timer you can choose 15, 30, or 60 minutes before it automatically shuts off. I like that you have the option of plugging it into the wall or to use batteries. My only complaint is that the sounds are not as crisp/clear as I would like, but overall it is a good value for the price.

We love this product! I have a daughter who has a lot of trouble getting to sleep. She shares her room with two little sisters, and they love it too. The sounds are realistic. We let our machine run all night, but I like that you can opt for smaller times. It is easily portable, and we have taken it on many trips. Only complaint is that after one year, we had to return ours to the company for a replacement because the on/off switch wore out. It is a great product for a fraction of what other sound machines cost. Just hoping our replacement lasts longer than one year this time around.

I really am glad I purchased the Homedics Sound Spa Relaxation Sound Machine. I got it for a great price on Amazon. I was looking for something to calm my one year old, help him sleep and stay asleep despite background noise. The Sound spa works. You may just have to figure out which noises relax you or your child. The heartbeat one is crazy. I don't even know why it's on there. My son like the ocean, rain, and waterfall. the seagulls are annoying in the ocean option and distract him sometimes, but not everytime. I had read other reviews about the light being annoying on this and it is. But I just cover it over. My son gets to excited when he's see's the light and wants to then play with the mahine. So I usually just hide the whole machine or cover up the light. The volume is high enough to block out background noise. I also like the fact that it has a place for batteries if you want to use it on the go. Now, the Homedics Sound Spa doesn't help put him to sleep everytime, but it definitely helps calm him and me.

I purchased this sound machine for my one year old son to help him sleep when we were staying in hotels or if he needed to nap or sleep in noisy environments. It was a real lifesaver for helping him drowned out the other noises and has actually made it easier for my husband and i to fall alseep as well. We always bring it on trips and it is really soothing for my son to have something familar when he is trying to sleep somewhere that is not home. We had owned this machine for over a year when on a trip somehow the knob got broken in transit and we had to rush out and purchase another one from target. i love how small and compact it is since we bring it while on vacation it fits nicely in luggage and is pretty durable. I am just mroe careful how i pack it as to not break the power knob again. It coems with six differnet options for sound but I find the rain noise is the best for white noise!

HoMedics Sound Spa Relaxation Sound Machine is great for baby and travel. It is compact and easy to fit in your bags, can run on power cord or batteries (for wherever the pack and play ends up), and does a great job of drowning out unfamiliar sounds allowing baby to sleep through the night. It has a timer option but also you can run it all night which some baby sleep products do not have and that I think is a must. I especially like the waterfall setting but never use the ocean setting becaus of the seagulls squacking throughout it. The volume range on the machine is nice too. I started using the radio on static, but noticed that through the night different stations would come in and out, this sleep machine is a much, much better option for my family. I espcially think it is great to have when my babies are sleeping in unfamiliar places, the sound makes the place familiar and their immediate environment more like it is at home. I am very happy with this product and would recommend it.

I love this sound machine. I got it about three years ago when my first daughter was born. It still works great with my second daughter, she is four months old. There are 6 different sound settings. It's nice to have a variety of white noise. There is a timer so the sound machine will automatically turn off after fifteen, thirty or sixty minutes. I used that feature all the time with my oldest daughter because I didn't want her to get use to sleeping with white noise. I have to have it quite when I sleep and if we were to ever go on a trip I would want her to be used to the same thing. With my four month old I leave it on all night. She is very sensitive to noise and also having a three year old running around and being loud I need to drown her out. It's a perfect size; it doesn't take up much room. Right now it sits on the rocking chairs arm in the nursery. You can put batteries in it and it can go anywhere. I would set it in the swing with my daughter and she would fall right to sleep. When my second daughter was first born I would put it in the crib with her. The green light was a little bright but I just put a wash cloth over it and problem solved.
