I put this clock on my Bed Bath and Beyond wedding registry because it combined something I needed (an alarm clock) with something I enjoyed (nature sounds).  This turned out to be one of my favorite shower gifts!

The shape is uniqueand I've seen some complaints about that, but I like it.  It looks cool and fits with my decor.  Since it is wider and shorter than most clocks, I don't ever accidentally knock it over like I did with my old clock.  It's shape makes it so it's stable.

The alarm works greatjust like any alarm.  You can set it to either beep, play the radio, or play a chosen nature sound.  I always set it to the radio because I don't know if I'd wake up to nature sounds.  I might wake up and think it is raining outside and miss the alarm!  I did have a little trouble setting the radio to the right station due to the small dial, but I only listen to one station and once I got it just right, it's worked great ever since.  The volume can be turned up pretty loud if you are a heavy sleeper. I usually leave it quiet because I hate waking up to loud noises.

Nature sounds help me fall asleep sometimes when I can't get my mind to relax.  I play the sounds of the rain forest, waterfall, thunder, rain, ocean or summer night and I usually get very relaxed.  I always turn the sounds off before I actually fall asleep though because I don't think I'd want them on all night.

The time shows brightly even when I just use the low light setting.  There were a few nights where I was having trouble sleeping and the light seemed so bright, but in general, it does not bother me.  I think it's just when I'm having a sleepless night that it annoys me a little and I cover it.  The time can also be aimed to show on the ceiling.  You can adjust it's aim and direction and when you hit the big button on the front it will project.  Sometimes if I'm comfy in the middle of the night and wondering the time, I don't want to turn b/c I will end up waking up too much.  So instead, I hit the button and see the time on the ceiling.  It's pretty cool.

It cost $30 which is not bad at all since you get a clock, alarm, and sound machine in one.  If you need any of those things, I see no reason not to buy this since it comes with all these features.  Look for it at Bed Bath and Beyond or shop around to find it elsewhere.  Enjoy!!

I have one of these, too, and I love it. The crashing waves cured my insomnia.
