Hitachi 10 inch compound miter saw works great

5

I didn't have a clue what I was looking for when my husband said he wanted a mitering saw for a gift. After a lot of research I ended up with the Hitachi 10 inch compound miter saw. Great choice as my husbands says it give a accurate and smooth miters and works well on thin wood and even plywood. Its has a fexible miter anges and is an ideal tool for woodworkers who want precision and reliablity without having to spend a great deal on tools. This saw is light enough to be able to move it around and heavy enough to give it the stability needed when using electric tools. The motor is powerful enough to work on some of his toughest cutting jobs. The handle grip allows you to control the saw al all times and the talbe is study enough to keep from moving around.I appreciate the dust collector that was incluced as it minimizes that accumulation of dust that was always left to get traced around. The carbide blade was included and the 15-amp motor seems to give the power needed to cut through even his most challenging projects.

Decent saw for the price

We picked up the Hitachi C10FCE2 ten inch compound miter saw locally when we started a chair railing and crown molding project and realized that cutting that stuff with a hand saw and miter box was about the worst idea ever. It was ready to go pretty much right out of the box, and has taken us through the chair railing project, the crown molding project in two different rooms, and a deck addition, as well as other small woodworking projects. It sometimes seems like the blade is perhaps not 100% perpendicular to the cutting surface, but the blame may need to be placed on the wood instead (if the dimensioned, and thus not jointed, lumber was not perfectly flush with the extensions on the saw, then it would make sense for the cut not to be perfectly perpendicular). I did also break off the piece on the left hand side that pivots over to allow for a little longer edge when a piece of wood kicked back one day. Seems like it was made out of pot metal. Oh well. Decent saw for the price.

Does the job

My husband is not a "handy man" and doesn't generally do a lot of projects around the house.  When we decided we wanted new trim for the floorboards in our basement (the previous owners had used raw wood in an attempt to create a "rustic" feel - it actually created a "this guy doesn't care about his home" feel), it seemed like a good project for him to try out.  He bought this Miter Saw so he could cut the trim at the correct angles.  The project went so well, and he enjoyed using the saw so much, that he didn't stop with trimming the floorboards, but went ahead and bought crown molding as well!  The saw didn't take up too much room, so even when it's not in use, it really doesn't become an eyesore.  It was inexpensive enough that, even though we had to buy it new, our project cost a lot less than if we had hired someone to do it.  We didn't have any problem with the sawdust bag, as some others have mentioned.

Unfortunately, I dont actually own a miter saw, but I did get to use one that belongs to a friend and I think I am in love!  The project I was working on did not have any pieces of wood wider than 8 inches, so this 10" saw was perfect for me.  If you were working with larger items, I think you would want a larger blade so as to not have to flip and try to match up cuts exactly.  I love the power and precision you can get with a saw like this.  If you have a mounting table and can set up stops, you can cut several pieces the same length without having to measure each one- a huge timesaver in my project as there was a lot of repetitiveness in my cuts.  The time I saved using this power saw instead of a hand saw and miter box can not be emphasized enough.  It has to be dozens and dozens of hours!  The power and efficiency of a saw like this makes it totally worth the price!  Watch for sales though- and know that more and more stores are pricemathching.

THE Hitachi Miter Saw

I love the Hitachi Mitar Saw, you want smooth, buy it.  It's quick easy to use and the smell alone will take you to another world. I suggest using this on a daily basis and quit paying high prices for store cut wood. You will not only save money but you also know you can use the remnants. Store cut wood your paying for the name, not the quality. Some people beleive just one and it's not that big of a deal. Add it up, once you buy this machine divide it into one per pre cut wood you would have bought from the chain store and see just how many you will get free by the end of the year.  You also know your getting what you pay for and not someone's mistakes Enjoy this wonderful Miter saw you will not be disapointed in its cut or ease of use. I will be buying this for my father so he will also get off the name brand kick and he will love the fact he doesn't have to get his wood cut just like he likes it.

Much easier to use than my old one!

I had a bit of trouble putting the few pieces together. The directions were not very clear to me. Took about 20 min. from box to first cut. Since I don't have a lot of experience with putting together power tools, I would have to guess that anyone else would be done in just a few minutes. The blade that comes with it is a sturdy general purpose blade. I used the Miter saw to cut a few pieces of trim for my basement bathroom. I was finished with about a dozen cuts in no time. Every one had a smooth edge. The adjustments were easy to make and the angles were perfect. This saw was to replace a very old hand-me-down and I was more than pleased with the results and the value. I was a little disappointed to see this item on sale everywhere just a few weeks after I purchased it, but still feel it was worth the original price. I would reccomend this miter saw to anyone, whether it is for home or proffessional use.

handyman will love

The hitachi c10fce2 10 inch compound miter saw is a definite must have for any handman in the family.  This blade has a 10 inch diameter but can still make extremely small and precise cuts.  The saw itself has degree and inch measurements marked on it to ensure you are making only the essential cuts and at the degree you are looking to match up.  The motor on this saw is definitely strong enough to get you through even the thickest of wood pieces.  I have found that the handle on this hitachi saw is molded in a way that makes it easy to grip on your hand and has a vibration diffuser which takes the vibrations and distributes them away from directly going through your hand.  As an everyday handyman, you know that even a slight deflection of vibration can make a world of difference, especially if you already have fatigue or pain in your hand.  This saw sets up nicely on the mounted hitachi table, which is a great item to pair with the saw.

Best Christmas present!

I bought this for my husband for Chistmas this year. Having been around carpenters all my life (my dad and husband) I do know the names of high quality tools and Hitachi is top of the line. So I was pretty confident that my husband would love it. So long story short, Christmas is now over for 2010 and he did love it! Ha.....I know my tools, lol!

It has made a non-carpenter seem skillful

I received this awesome saw for my birthday in August and I don't know if I've ever gotten a more practical gift.  I was born into a family of carpenters but I've never been able to make a straight cut with a standard circular saw and now, I almost don't have to.  Excepting for making long cuts, this saw has everything covered. I'd had the saw for about 2 hours when I started putting it to use.  I'd purchased a shed kit that required numerous cross and angle cut 2 x 4s and I made very short work of these cuts that would have taken me hours with my circular.  The longest part of the process was actually marking the studs to be cut.  Once they were marked, I simply laid it on the saw's platform and followed the line.  Each cut was perfect the first time and this aspect of constructing something was truly a first time for me.  I've always had to go back and fix something, usually to the detriment of whatever I was building, but not this time. I guess in short, I'd recommend this item for anyone.  If you're already good at making cuts, this will make you better.  If you're not the  handiest, this will make you handy.  I think I'm even going to buy some more Hitachi pruducts to see what else I can build.

The Hitachi 10-inch Compound Saw - Best Yet!

5

My wife bought me, what I consider the best Christmas gift ever; 10" Compound Miter Saw by Hitachi. She was acting as if I may not approve of getting a present that I would use for work, but she was so wrong about that. I went to work today and used this Mister Saw, and now after the guys at work seen how great the cutting is and how precise the saw makes all the cuts, they are wanting to get themselves one too. I have been in Construction work for over 10 years and I can honestly say, so far this has been the best Miter Saw that I have used in all this time.
