my parents, bf, and i attended a wedding reception at this hilton location last year during the labor day weekend. the hotel is located close to the freeway and isn't difficult to find or get to. the ballroom area was large enough to fit a good sized dance floor for everyone to get our groove on, dj area, a cake table, and 10 persons at each of the approximate 30 guest tables (not including the wedding entourages' tables) comfortably without your personal space being invaded while you're eating.
my bf and i stayed the night since we knew that we'd be consuming a good amount of alcohol. the rooms were standard and clean. it had working a/c - which we really appreciated because it was much needed for the 100+ degree day; a comfortable king size bed with plenty of comfy pillows; ceiling to floor windows - which was nice because we had a great view to watch the fireworks show from the state fair across the freeway.
they have a pool, jacuzzi, and really small weight room. i didn't get to jump into the pool or sit in the jacuzzi, but i sipped my drink poolside which was relaxing enough.
we ordered food from the harvard street restaurant which is adjoined to the hotel. we didn't get to eat at the restaurant, but we did order an entree from here at the bar located in the hotel to have with our drinks. we had the ribs that came with the white corns on the cobs and french fries. pricey but yummy.
