I stayed at the Hilton in Downtown Knoxville in Summer of '08 for a business meeting.
I only stayed one night and found the hotel to be very nice, but a few major flaws really distracted from the overall quality in my opinion.
The good things: The beds were VERY comfortable, check in and out was fairly easy (but the staff appeared to be a little distracted or annoyed upon check out)
The bad things: the air conditioning in the room was VERY loud when it clicked on and off (which would have been fine, but it was clicking on an off ALL NIGHT). The parking is rediculous! The hotel is situated on a corner and there's only one location to turn in so you can check in or use valet parking. I circled the block literally three times because the amount of people checking in was high and I the drive was not clearly marked, so I didn't know if I was in the right place.
I could have forgiven the bad things if I had gotten a response from someone when I wrote the letter informing them of the parking confusion and the loud A/C (even if it was just something like "I'm sorry for the inconvienence and we are striving to make future stays more enjoyable"), but I got no response.
For the price, I don't think this hotel is worth it. Save a few bucks and find a place with a nicer staff. You can find noisy A/Cs anywhere!
