The Hilton in Fortlauderdal, FL was a very nice hotel indeed, but there were a few dissapointments. We were forced to use their valet parking which was 27.00 per night. Then there is the dollar tip every time you get/give your car. Internet hookup was a bit on the high side 12.00 per 24hr Resturant and shops were near by but a good 20 min walk to get there. Not an undoable thing but to get your car was a dollar tip to get it out and a dollar tip to put it back and parking in town was 5.00 - good greif. We took the one day cruise to the bahamas. As we were driving down the street, we were amazed at the building being a brand new property. I was ecsatic when we drove up to valet parking. Five valet driver descended on us immediately. The room was awesome. I upgraded to an oceanview room for 30 additional dollars. I ate breakfast on the terrace twice and felt like I was in paradise. I will definitely stay again. I truly loved it. This is a fairly new hotel opened in January 2007. It is a 5 star hotel and beautiful. The staff is at your beck and call. Waitress's at the pool for your convenience. Bed type of lounge's were also around the pool. They have those heavenly beds which were just that, heaven to sleep in. Housekeeping came 2 times a day. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone that wants to be catered to.Dining: Short Drive, Las Olas Blvd. Great restaurants and shopping. The Fort Lauderdale Hilton Beach Resort was first class all the way. Excellent service was extended from the moment we walked in. The availability of a kitchenette in our room was wonderful. The pool area was fantastic, with an ocean view. The beach was also easily accessible and hotel staff provided beachside service also. Every need was anticipated! I was a bit disappointed that they did not have a wide menu selection. Also the parking cost per day seemed high. Staff was wonderful and very friendly and helpful.
