A Great Family Resort across the Street from the Beach
The Unique Philosophy
Hilton has stepped outside the box with its beautiful new beachfront resort in Fort Lauderdale. The original GM with vision (and a young family of his own) convinced the corporate powers-that-be that a resort that focusing on giving kids a great time would succeed. Was he ever right!
What Sets It Apart
This particular Hilton, with its Ocean Explorer's Club for young guests, is shattering all sales records across the country. Each day, children staying in the hotel participate in supervised activities from mosaic-making to fishing clinics held by a tv personality who hosts his own fishing show for kids.
Parents Benefit
Meanwhile, parents have blocks of time to enjoy the ocean and beach, shop or dine in the charming Las Olas district, or spend quality time alone, in a gorgeous room. All rooms and suites have an ocean view, and the hotel's modern aesthetic has been fully realized, from headboards to outdoor seating; it's a visual delight.
Amenities
The Hilton has a spa, an ocean-view fitness center, high-speed wireless internet, 6th-floor pool and sun deck, valet parking, a concierge, business center and meeting rooms. The Lauderdale water taxi (with 10 stops, including Las Olas) is 3 blocks away; the Atlantic's right across the street. Suites have lovely kitchens; two plasma tvs; two bathrooms; private balconies; plush bedding, robes and slippers. On site, the hotel's restaurant delivers the goods with tantalizing dinners. The bar offers another cool place to hang out.
Libby's Hot Tip: Hit the pool early; it's in shade by early afternoon......
The Bottom Line: Libby Loves It!
