The Hillside Self Heating Hot Cocoa is amazing. The product begins to heat itself after breaking its bottom seal and pushing in a button. The product takes about 5-8 minutes to reach its perfect, not to hot, drinkable temperature and even informs its user using a color changing dot on its case; the dot changes from pink to white when beverage is hot.
When I first tried the drink, it was at a perfect and adequate temperature for drinking. The product did not burn my tongue or throat while drinking it, the temperature was perfect. The container's drink volume is misleading. Even though the container seems to be filled with a lot of hot cocoa, it is not. Most of the beverage container is housing a heating campartment that heats the hot chocolate. This compartment runs up the entire length of the cup, allowing the actually hot cocoa around its cone shape thus heating the beverage. At $3 plus tax, the beverage does not supply enough actual drink.
The product does not work if left in the cold. I left one in my car, hoping to use it if I ever wished to have a warm drink on a cold day, and found the drink unable to work propperly because it had completely froze. I could not microwave the product because it contains some aluminum and could not even activate the heating process because the buttom would not press inward - the water bag it needed to break had frozen as well.
The Hillside Self Heating beverages also come in coffee, latte, tea and soup.
Overall, I would recommend this product because of its convenient concept, though with the thought in mind that the more product could contain more of a drink that it actual does. Great for drives and camping events!
