We found two puppies abandoned on a road out to a lake, and they were both so starved and dehydrated that we took them straight to the veterinarians office. We were afraid they would not make it and he gave us samples of this pet food and we bought a few bags of it from his office. We had tried our other dogs food and they kept throwing it up, so we tried this one out next. Our puppies started munching down on this like they had never eaten before in their lives, they absolutely loved it. Within a day our puppies were full of live, going to the bathroom regularly, and had nice fat little bellies on them. This food fattened them up all around quickly and gave them all of the nutrients that they needed so that they could continue to thrive and be healthy. I like that the ingredients are all natural and I can read them all and trust them to give to my pets. This food never last long in the bowl, so they must really enjoy the taste of it as well.

I would say that this seems to be a nice high quality puppy food. I have only used it one time because someone gave me a bag of it. We used it with no problems, out puppies ate it well and seemed to thrive and grow very well while on it. Our biggest problem is that it is hard to find and is quite a bit more expensive than our normal brand. I didn't notice enough of a difference to justify the extra expense or bother to track this down for normal everyday feeding. Quality of Ingredients This seemed like a very high quality product, if it is available in your area and you feel the need to spend the extra money, you won't be disappointed, but I didn't notice that much difference than from when we feed Purina products which are much more easily found. Flavor Selection I have no idea what the flavor selection is since I think the only place I have seen it was at the vets office and it was so expensive I didn't bother to check it out further.

When we adopted our puppy two years ago we used a store brand dog food that just happened to cost a lot less. We found that our puppy had a very sensitive stomach and after talking to the vet they recommended that we get him Science Diet Puppy Food. I didn't like the idea of spending so much more on puppy food but I thought we would try it. Our puppy is a small dog so we opted for the Science Diet Puppy Small Bites and from the first time we put it in his bowl he loved it. He had never gobbled up his dog food so fast. We quickly found that his system could tolerate this food a lot better. I think this food really helps puppies grow up strong. It helped his coat and one of the biggest benefits for us was that we found that there was a lot less waste to clean up after once he was fully switched over the Science Diet food. We will defiantly continue with this brand of dog food and I highly recommend spending a little bit extra for it!

Just because something's expensive doesn't necessarily mean that it's good. I think this is the best way to describe Science Diet foods. I gave my Puppy Small bites when I first got her at two months. She ate just fine, and I assumed that she liked it because she ate a good amount, but never ate it all. I assumed this was just because she was still so young and maybe I overestimated how much she could eat, which may still hold true. However, I decided to switch to another brand after doing a bit of research and my puppy loved it! She ate all of it and fast! Just looking at the ingredients, you can see why this food isn't great. The first three (which make up most of the food) are Whole Grain Corn, Chicken Meal, and Corn Gluten Meal. Anything called meal basically means that its the 'crap' (for lack of a better word) of the food. So Chicken Meal is pretty much chicken but not the best part of it. Most brands are similar when it comes to ingredients, however there are brands which cost the same as Science Diet and contain better ingredients. The ingredient list does not justify the high cost of this product.

I purchased my little addition to my home almost a year ago. A beautiful little male pomeranian. The vet gave us the welcome basket with a bag of science diet puppy small bites. I'm used to large dogs (i have a husky and a lab) but this little guy ate like the big boys. I was impressed with how active he was and alert for being so young (14 weeks) and the vet was very happy with his progress and requested me stay on the current food for his diet. I've yet to switch because he's still enjoying the food, so once he get's over a year, i'll be swapping him to the Science Diet Adult small bites bag. I'll review that when the time comes. The food doesn't make him smell bad or makes his poo runny, and with long fur, no one wants runny poo. (Sorry, don't mean to gross you out!) The dog food is decently priced and my vet recommends it, so i feel like i'm doing the right thing for my little Giz. I'm happy with this product and will recommend it to any small puppy owner.

Science diet puppy products is wonderful if you have a dog that sheds alot, this food will keep them from sheding really fast, and they'll really eat the stuff up because is got a hint of honey in it for there sweet tooth.

let me start off by saying this is by far the best dog food i have ever bought. i got a little shit-zu about ten years ago and was looking for new brands of dog foods to buy because had previous bad experiences with other brands of dog foods. I only wanted the best for my puppy, so i went to my vet and asked him, what would be a good brand that was not too expensive and but not to cheap, with good quality. He said that Science Diet was one of the best brands out there on the market. i immediately went to the pet store and bought it. at first my puppy did not like it but then he would eat it all the time, and would want some more! my puppy is now 10 years old and i have been feeding him science diet since he was 5 weeks old, whether or not its wet food or dry food. my dog really loves the wet foods the most. my vet also recomended the science diet treats, and my dog absolutely loved them. he would always ask for more! So if your looking for the right dog food that is not too expensive, but wont give your dog any disease's, i would highly recomend this brand to anybody!

I have bought numerous brands of dog food - you name it all - Kibbles N Bits, Nutra, even Iams... My three dogs would not eat them until I bought the Science Diet dog food.  Finally they all three eat the dog food. I think it is well made for a dog food and even gets my three chihuahuas to eat it. I would recommend this dog food for anyone who has a dog picky eater - it will work on them. I recommend it heartily!

Although the ingredients look impecably nutritious, (the reason to try it in 1st place) My dogs wouldn't eat** the Science Diet Puppy Small bites **even if I put water in it and heated it up. In order to get them to eat I wound up buying a bigger bag of a different Brand of Dog Food and mixing it well in order to get them to eat the bag I bought. I belive you are what you eat. Putting sawDust into my dog is not an option, however, how do you get the other stuff into them?

Science Diet Puppy Small bites is the only brand dog food I have ever bought for my puppy.  He is currently 6 months old and I will continue to buy the science diet dog food through the rest of his puppy stage, and on through adulthood.  I have tried other dog food brands in the past with other pets, and after a lot of research, and talking to our vet I have gotten to the point that I will now only use Science Diet.  Some of the things I really like about Science Diet include: Quality, Value, a name I can trust, price, and vet recommendation.  There are several other things that have made me favor science diet such as: my friends dog that eats the cheap food stinks really bad, and is pooping all the time and it's just nasty!  I really enjoy a clean, and clean smelling dog, as well as healthy, and happy dog.
