Hill's Science Diet Nature's Best Lamb & Rice Small Bites Dog Food —
During a recent pet store visit, I struck up a conversation with the Science Diet rep. I was concerned about my 16-year-old cat's diet. My little cutie pie (aka 9-year-old miniature poodle) was with me so, of course, it didn't take long for the conversation to be all about him. When I mentioned that he's crazy for raw veggies and comes running when he hears chopping in the kitchen, she offered us a small sample bag of Science Diet Nature's Best lamb and brown rice dinner (small bites). He absolutely loved it, so back I went two days later for a larger bag.He has always eaten another brand high-quality dog food, so I hadn't worried about his diet. And at 9-years-old, hadn't worried about him behaving older and slower. Well, after a week, both my husband and I were commenting on our puppy being back. Sure, he sleeps all day, but the playful, craziness is back when he is up and around. His eyes, as well as his attitude, just seem brighter.
He's been on the food now for over a month, and we're hooked. He's even gained a couple of pounds, which looks good on him. We've always been free feeders, now I measure what he gets so he won't get the middle-aged spread. I highly recommend this food to other small dog owners.

The ingredients as listed: lamb, brewers rice, cracked pearled barley, soybean meal, brown rice, dried egg product, lamb meal, port fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), soybean oil, powdered cellulose, natural flavour, whole grain oats, apples, cranberries, peas, carrots, broccoli, vitamins (L-ascorbyl-2-polyphosphate(source of vitamin C), vitamin E Supplement, niacin, thiamine mononitrate, vitamin a supplement, calcium pantothenate, bitin, vitamin B12 supplement, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin D3 suppplement), iodized salt, choline chloride, potassium chloride, vitamin E supplement, taurine, minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, copper sulfate, manganous oxide, calcium iodate, sodium selenite), preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid, L-lysine, beta-carotene, rosemary extract
