My two senior rescue dachshunds love this dog food. They gobble it up without hesitation. It's best to choose one dog food and stick with it, if you switch too often dogs can become finnicky.  I don't think their coats have ever looked so nice and shiny as on this dog food.

I fed this to my small Rat Terrier for over a year and had great results, he was severely overweight and he lost all the excess fat and became very toned and lean on this food. The only problem is that he started to eat his own feces, there are a few ideas I have on why he does this and I have changed his food to another hill's brand and he still does it. I'm wondering if he isn't getting the nutrients he needs from this food.

About a year ago, our mixed Akita, started the oddest coughing and we thought at first it might be heartworm, after a through examination from the vet we discovered she had a food allergy and were told that a change in food would take care of the cough in just a couple of weeks.   She was put on Science Diet for intestinal and digestion problems.  After about a week the coughing started to subside till she didn't have any cough at all,at this time the vet recommended we put her on Science Diet for Mature dogs/small bites, because she was slightly overweight and needed to loose 5 lbs. and also it would not upset her stomach.   In the year since we have used Science Diet regularly, her hair has become very shiney and her shedding is down to a minimum ( I had to brush her everyday and still couldn't keep up with the constant shedding).  She is 7 years old and the biggest thing I have noticed is she has a lot more energy and zip now, and I attribute it to her good diet.  I highly recommend Science Diet to anyone, it is somewhat more expensive that store food, but not enough to not buy it instead of the cheaper food.   As a former dog groomer assistant I should have already known this, but sometimes you overlook the obvious !  I have had dogs my entire life and this is the first one I have an with "digestive" troubles, and as I stated earlier, the Science Diet and also NO PEOPLE FOOD was the answer.  Just remember when switching food, mix the old with the new till you slowly just phase out the old so this doesn't add any more problems.  Give it a try and hopefully your dog and you will be happy !
