Almost three years ago, the entire Xeno brood ventured up to Melbourne, FL to visit a Miniature Schnauzer breeder. By the time we turned around we were leaving with a little frisky Schnauzer pup and a big bag of Hill's Science Diet Dry Puppy Small Bites dog food. — Immediately named Brandy… read full review »

Science Diet is not a bad dog food.  There are dogs out there who have had problems with it, but there are also dogs who have had problems with other dog food brands as well. — The main reason that you see this food in your vet's office, is because Hill's, the company who makes Science… read full review »

I am a in the pet care buisness and have seen dogs skin go way wrong with Science Diet.... Including my own!  The FDA says dog food has to have a certain amount of protien in thier food before putting it on the shelf.  A lot of food, including SD use corn to raise the protien level.  Corn is 100% NON DIGESTABLE protien and has absolutely no nutritional value to it.  On top of that............ Most dog allergies are caused by corn consumption!  I've also heard that the preservatives use to give SD a long shelf life cause live and kidney disfunction, but I can't prove… read full review »

Science Diet is in every vet. clinic for a reason. The company that makes it sponsors almost every veterinarian program in every college or university. Huge kick-backs are given for selling as much as they can. — This food is not dangerous and it does the job of putting something in your dogs stomach every day but is a poor choice. Look at the ingredients on this "light" dog food. Ground peanut shells made me shake my head. There are so many indigestible fillers in this food that most of it just ends up in the back yard as waste, doing nothing for your pooch. You could… read full review »

I have found the best of both worlds.  A Vet. who has been practicing for MANY Years, plus he's also into Natural/Herbal/Alternative care for animals.  A few yrs. ago when I took my dog in for a initial visit.  He asked me what I fed my Dog.  I said "Science Diet".  That's when he told me "You giving your dog that food is like you eating soup for your diet".   I REALLY trust this Vet.  Because my Sister has taken her animals to him for many, many years.  He has kept alive her Boston Terrier who has bladder cancer.  2 years ago the Specialists… read full review »

Have used Science diet for many years canned and dry.  It has gotten way to expensive. —  The last bag of dry dog food I bought I also noticed a smell that really wasn't that pleasant. —   My dogs love the food and have done really well on it but unfortunately with it costing almost $40.00 for a bag and $2.00 a can will no longer be feeding this product will look for less expensive product that is as close to this as I can find. — … read full review »

Love this food helps keep my Rottweiler (which have a tendancy to get fat) nice and fit and trim. Jade is a rather lazy dog and not easily kept trim either and after a plethera of dog food we settled on this brand and she has been on it ever since. I find that she had lots less waste from the food leaving me to scoop up less of it in the back yard. And since we put her on it she sheds a lot less which is good for a Rott too cause they tend to dump hair. Do not plan on switching the brand ever.… read full review »

Hill's Science Diet Light Formula Canned to me has the same pros and cons as all the Science Diet Foods. It is really helpful in helping your pet getting or staying healthy, but the two big cons are first of all the price and second , in my experience, most pets just don't like the taste. It is great if it helps the health of your pet, but it can only help if you somehow get your pet to actually eat… read full review »

I love my dog very much she is my baby. and I will only give her hills science diet food and the light formula is good becasue I give her lots of treats. She can't eat people food because she is small and it upsets her stomic but science diet has never done it before. Her fur always looks good too. I would tell all of my friends to use this brand for their dogs. And it is priced good which is… read full review »

We have to feed our dog weight control food because he gains so much weight on regular food.  We have been purchasing this brand because we get a great deal on it at the store.  He really likes it, but the one drawback is that it give him terrilble gas, which isn't fun for us since he's a 100 pound… read full review »
