Hewlett Packard HP Pavilion Entertainment PC Review

I bought an HP Pavillion Entertainment PC about a year ago and have had so many problems with it.  For the first 4 or 5 months, it would suddenly shut down by itself or freeze.  It still freezes occasionally and all you can do is shut it down.  It takes a minimum of 3 minutes to show the desktop after turning it on, but usually it is longer.  I get HP updates that pop up several times a month, and if you don't click on their flashing webpage on the toolbar and either cancel or remind later, it shuts down and restarts the machine after 10 minutes, most times.  I took it back to Best Buy, and even with a warranty it cost me $200 to work on it because they said the hardware was okay but it was taking too long to get started and they wanted to reset everything and back it up.  Well, still does the same thing.  Lately when I turn it on, there are times when it says the computer can't restart and has to revert to the latest time it was okay, so some files disapper from the desktop too.  It isn't a bug or virus because we checked that too and took it all the way back to factory settings and didn't add anyother programs or open anything just to check it out.

To be fair, it does do what I want as far as work and emails.  It has Windows Vista which some people have said contributes to the problems.  HP has a good reputation, but when I get a new laptop, hopefully soon, it will not be an HP.
