I wanted a new laptop computer.  My old laptop, a Hewlett Packard zv5000z, which still works mind you, is getting a little long in the tooth, and she is getting progressively slower, as I add more and more programs.   And while I am not running out of usable hard drive space, my daughters 3-year old...

Hp laptops are ok for the money you pay for... but one of the things you want to think about when purchasing computer is customer service, particular in the repair department and Hp is awful. My laptops stopped working for no reason within 8 mths of use and when i sent it in for repair it took more THREE... review »

I've had mine for almost a year now and am very satisfied for the dollar. I just recently found the key to a more satisfying experience with Vista and that is the addition of another 1 Gb of ram (Now a maximum total of 2Gb) for $70 at Best Buy. It significantly increased the operating speed. I also bought the docking station which I have to say made replacing my desktop PC easier to accept. The mouse was a battery eater, so I replaced it with another. The 17" screen is super and all the features HP provides for a laptop in this price range is almost ridiculous. I dont miss my old HP desktop at... review »

With its impressive feature set, gorgeous screen, and generous assemblage of high-end components, the HP Pavilion DV9000z packs plenty of punch for mainstream tasks and multimedia chores (including high-definition movie watching), but its 3D performance pales next to the pricier, Core 2 Duo-based competition.

Clad in a high-gloss black finish (with a subtle wave motif), the eye-catching Pavilion DV9000z would fit in just as well in a home theater as it would in a home office. Despite its desktop-hogging footprint, the 8.4-pound notebook features a surprisingly thin case for a desktop replacement....

I have my HP dv9420us for over two years now and I have been very happy with it so far.  I bought this laptop in 2007 prior to my deployment to Iraq so that I would have the ability to stay in contact with friends and family and so I could watch videos and listen to music and do other basic computer type things.  At the time Vista was still very new and I had the drive wiped and XP put on it simply because I knew how to use XP and how to fix most of the problems that I would have.  It worked flawlessly for the entire 6 months that I was in Iraq.  When I got home I easily hooked it up to a wireless...

This laptop can help any student. It has the perfect screen for creating or editing or watching movies. It also has plenty of memory. It keeps a battery life of about five hours which is perfect for a day in class or flight. I love windows vista so if you do too  this is the laptop for you. It is very light weight and easy to carry around. My dad has one he takes to work everyday and he can't lift to heavy items. It's screen is clear. The only con I can think about it sometimes it just might be to big to fit in a backpack.

I've owned them all and am most satisfied with my HP Notebook. The 17" screen is great for everyday home usage. I recently contacted HP support and was 110% satisfied with their service. The part that most impressed me? The problem wasn't even theirs and yet they helped me! I was having problems with a Verizon modem and the gentleman from HP kindly walked me through the proper steps to take. Much better than the Compaq support I spoke with last year.

Is a great lab top to have when you are in college to do school work.  Is kind of slow when turning on and coming back from hybernation.  Microsoft vista is not that good with it wish i could have the old micrsoft with it. Is very light weight and easy to carry around.

The Hewlett Packard Pavilion DV9000Z 17" Screen Laptop  is the last HP product I will ever buy.  I have, currently and in the past, owned many HP desktops and laptops.  Every single item has had poor quality and problems.  The latest laptop had a problem while it was still under warranty, so after many hours dealing with customer support overseas, the problem was finally resolved.  The latest problem with the power cord occurred right after the warranty expired.  I went back to the store where I purchased the laptop and when the salesperson looked up the computer on the internet he commented...

We shopped around for a laptop that was a good price.  We needed something that was fast enough for my husband to work on (he is a programmer) as well as be easy for me to use.  This laptop fit all of our criteria and has, in my opinion, been a great buy.  The computer itself is very light and is easy to carry around.  The built-in wireless has been great for casual net surfing on the couch.  We had a laptop before that would get very hot on the bottom to where you could not set it on your lap and had to be on a hard surface.  This particular laptop does not have the heat problem, and I can... review »

I bought the HP Pavillion becuase it was on sale.  I use it for Word, Excell, browsing the internet, watching movies on the internet, and managing lots of digital photos.  It works well for these things. I fly at least twice a year and I find that the size of this laptop makes it awkward to get efficeintly through security check points. But for the price, and if you don't need to fly with it often, it is a great computer.

I bought this computer twice.  The first time the motherboard fried about eleven months after I got it.  I bought it again because I found it easy to use and a good fit...
