A little troublesome from time to time, but worth it overall.

Comments about Hewlett Packard - Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Multifunction Printer:

I've had this printer for a little over a year now, and find it to MOSTLY be trustworthy. It's the first all-in-one printer I've had in awhile, and chose it with the help of a sales associate at a local office supply store, noting it was my last year of grad school and there would be a high amount of printing. I also liked that it had a wireless connection and usb/photo card options. That being said, the printer jams a moderate amount of times, the scanner interface could be a little easier to manage/touch screen could be overall less confusing and more user-friendly, and the wireless connection can be very temperamental. There have been a handful of times my printer won't pick up the wireless connection from my laptop/router, or a similar type of disconnect where everything is clearly set up right but the printer doesn't receive the commands - and you can waste anywhere from 15 minutes to nearly an hour trying to fix that connection issue, depending on how stubborn it is (and how many times you shut things down and restart them, and I'm talking printer, laptop, router, repeat). Overall, it's a decent printer. Aside from the wireless connection issues, my only other complaint is that the ink needed for the printer has seemingly internal expiration dates. I was warned, when purchasing it, that these inks only had a certain amount of shelf life, whether I used them or not and would likely drain at the same rate and need replacing at the same time (which is VERY true and can get expensive). Regardless, print and scanning quality are excellent.

This printer has all one can ask for. It has two scanning modes (top feeder and flatbed scanner). It has wireless capabilities, including emailing scanned documents and wireless printing. The printer is also capable of faxing and also has a catalogue of apps to download from HP.

"This printer can have it's problems."

By

from Burley, ID

Comments about Hewlett Packard - Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Multifunction Printer:

We liked this printer/scanner for the 1st couple of months. We didn't have any problems with it. Then it started acting up. Maybe it was because we moved, but that shouldn't bother it. The machine started having communication problems with the computer. We also can't push the buttons on machine to get it to work. All of the commands have to come from the computer, with the exception of loading ink and extra paper when printing. Maybe our case is unique and this really is a great machine.

Great Value, Little package!

Comments about Hewlett Packard - Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Multifunction Printer:

I recieved this product as a birthday gift recently. I wanted a wireless printer so that I cold print coupons from home. My parents surprised me with this one, and at first I didn't think I needed everything that it offers. My birthday was less than a month ago, and already have used every function. It uses minimal ink, which is always econmical when it comes to printers. The colors are vivid and bold, worthy of photo quality with the right paper. It does take a couple of seconds for the ink to dry completely, but that just shows you how fast it prints...with quality. One thing I love about it, is that it has so many functions, yet takes up very little space. I was concerned about getting something like this because I have to keep it up from my toddler. This model fits easily on my kitchen counter, and doesn't look like an eyesore. All in all, it's a great value for the money. Good things do come in small packages!

Beautiful HP 8500 all-in-one

By

Comments about Hewlett Packard - Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Multifunction Printer:

The printer is definitely a beauty and will add a touch of class to any home office or small office. It looks very expensive and is heavy to boot. you will need a very sturdy desk for this printer. It can handle so many of the tasks that you would normally need seperate machines for. I love it's wireless capabilities and the fax function is great. If you can afford to leave the printer on and in stand by mode at all times, it would be quite beneficial as it takes a while to get started but once it's printing , it's amazing. The print quality of documents is pretty good but i would suggest that you not expect to get great images and do your picture printing with something else. The ink is quite expensive but it does last awhile as long as you're not printing pictures which i don't think you'll want to do anyway. Overall. I like the printer but I still use another for printing photos. BTW, Hp has an annoying habit of including a bunch of add-ons during the installation process. be mindful and make sure you elect to download only those things which are appealing to you.
