Hewlett Packard Notebook Computer —

I researched the HP website and thought I had found the perfect laptop for my needs until after I received it and found out they had played the bait and switch game. On the website they had the DV2910US as a 64 bit Windows Vista Home Premium after reveiwing the System Information in the System Tools on the Notebook I found out I had a DV2700 with a 32 bit Vista Home Premium. I was told my email was sent to the proper department to help clear up the matter to which I never heard a thing. On the bottom of the computer it states Warranty: 1 Year which is also a false statement my CD/DVD Rom with Lightscribe stopped working so I wrote in for assistance telling them it was making a noise and not working. I was told my 8 to 9 month old computer is no longer under warranty. Up until now I considered HP to be a great company, but after all of and being talked to like I was ignorant and them not standing behind their product with the warranty I have lost all respect for them as a company. I have used computers since 1989 and have a degree in computer hardware/electronic engineering so you can see how it would cause quite a stir to tell me I am clueless when it comes to computers. If you are looking for a computer I would suggest looking elsewhere as I also have a custom order HP Desktop with XP Pro with Media Center and have already replaced the video card in it because HP and have had to recovery the system twice because of corrupted files.
