The HP LaserJet 4250 is a great machine. Granted, the only ones you will find out there for sale are refurbished or used at this point, but I decided to review it anyway. I have used this machine on a daily basis for the past four years in my home office. I do a lot of printing and have not had a bit of problems with this printer.
It is a black-and-white printer, with print speeds up to 45 PPM. Instant On Technology lets you start printing with almost zero wait time. I have the optional 500-sheet input tray, so I can load a ream at a time, saving time and energy. There also is an optional 1,500-sheet high-capacity input tray. It supports automatic two-sided printing.
The printer has a 460 MHz processor and from 48 to 80 MB of memory, complex print jobs are not a problem. You can expand the memory up to 512 MB. It has an easy to read LED control panel featuring up to 4 lines of text and animated graphics so you can easily determine printer and job status and correct any problems that arise.
I use the printer mainly to print letters, envelopes and labels, Quick Book reports and tax returns. Using the HP genuine laser jet ink replacement cartridges assures high quality and high quantity results. Although the replacement cartridge is estimated to provide 20,000 prints, I often have had upwards of 25,000 from one cartridge.
Am absolutely satisfied with this printer, and the only reason I did not rate it five stars is due to the large size of the machine. It is big, bulky and heavy.
I would recommend the HP brand, and this machine in particular to everyone.
