Could be a good laptop if things stopped breaking

My husband has had this laptop for two years now and things keep breaking on it. A few months after he got it the DVD/CD rom needed to be repalced. The warranty covered it but the company kept trying to charge him almost $400 to repalce it. They wouldn't fix it until he paid it, this went on for about two weeks before they staightened things out. We were suppose to have it back in a week but because of the problem he was without it for three weeks.When we finally got it back the laptop smelled of pizza as soon as we pulled it out of the box and there was crumbs stuck in the keyboard and grease marks on the keys not to metion a scratch on the top of the laptop. After that two of the keys broke off and because of the last problem we paid to have it fixed instead of using the warrenty. After the key the the cord to charge it stopped working. We had no problems getting the cord replaced, they sent out a new one right away. The newest problem is the screen. The one side of the screen has all these colored lines on it so now you can't even see the whole pic on the screen, we'll have to see if we have any problems with getting it fixed this time. My father-in-law has the same laptop and he is having the same problems with his screen as well. They have both had there laptops for about two years and the problems with the screens started around the same time. I'm not sure if my father-in law has had anyother problems though, I only know of this one.
