This is a good laptop for the money (paid 700 bucks after all rebates).Has 2 bays for hard drives, so you can expand. Screen is huge and nice, comes with a card for cable input. Put LINUX OS (UBUNTU) on it which went smoothly. Be careful though- Windows VISTA does not tolerate other OS being installed- I am running LINUX from USB disk. Two downsides- no paralel port (still using parallel port printer, though you can buy a converter to USB) and just 1GB RAM (who said VISTA runs OK on 1GB?). Overall it was a very good buy for the money. For 1100 bucks though I would have chosen other configuration. Also SATA drives (this one comes with a SATA, not IDE) suck in general. My first one died (after a warning, so I was able to back up the data) after 2 months. HP service was great- they replaced it in 3 days.
