Hewlett Packard HP Mini 1000 Notebook, Intel Atom Processor N270 1.60GHz, 8.9" LED BrightView Widescreen Display, 51... (883585978731) Review

I sold my full size laptop and bought an HP Mini 1000 netbook instead. I used my laptop mostly when travelling to check email and surf the net. I use my desktop computer most of the time at home. But, since buying my Mini, I've found it much more useful. I keep it by my chair and if I see something when I'm watching TV that I want to check out (or vote on Dancing With the Stars), I can grab it and get online quickly. I find that I use it a lot more than I did my laptop. Also, when I went on a recent airplane trip, I decided to take my Mini with me and it was easy to pack, easy to take through security and didn't add a lot of weight to my luggage.

PROS: Small and very portable, just as fast as my laptop, has a built in webcamera, can easily add a wireless mouse.

CONS: No DVD drive, less hard drive space that some laptops

This Mini is best for people who just want to check email and surf the net. If you want to play movies, you can't unless you download them, and I suspect it wouldn't be fast enough or have enough memory. Great for travel!
