Good printer

By

from Wofford Heights, CA

Comments about Hewlett Packard Deskjet 6988dt InkJet Printer:

I bought this printer when my other one went out on me It was also an Hewlet packard and I had it for over 6 years before it even started giving me any trouble. So I decited to get another hewlet packard since my other one lasted so long. I am so glad I did this is a great printer I love it so much and the price was not bad either it was not a real costly printer and that is a good thing in this troubled economy I would just recomend this printer to anyone who is looking for a good printer at a lower cost so it will not break them. The printed copies come out so very clear and the photos print out well. My main reason for having a printer is because I always print oout coupons to use in the store when shopping and this one is just great all I can do is tell you to buy this printer you will not be sorry

HP Officejet 6200 series all-in-one

By

from Farmington, MO

Comments about Hewlett Packard Deskjet 6988dt InkJet Printer:

My first all in one printer bought in 2005 and still working without any problems.

This all in one printer does: copy, print color/bw, scan, FAX and photo print with USB camera slot

Does NOT configure for wireless and does require a black ink and a color HP injet.

This printer does a good job but is not too fast. Have had some paper jams over the years but was able to remedy.

Setting up for sending and receiving FAX is a bit of trouble and sometimes there is a phone connection miscue but all in all a moderately reliable function.

I found it best to only turn on the FAX receive option when I knew a FAX was due.

Best feature is the ease and quality of copy. Great reprints/copy.

HP Deskjet 6988 works well.

By

from Sacramento, CA

Comments about Hewlett Packard Deskjet 6988dt InkJet Printer:

I've been using this printer for about a year, and I'm very happy with the quality of the printing. the buttons on the front of the printer are easy to use. When it is out of paper, a button on the front blinks. It is annoying to make double sided copies with this printer because it has to be done manually, and it takes a very long time for the double sided pages to come out. I like how easy it is to lift up the front and change the ink cartridge. However, the printer is an ink guzzler, but there is an option to use black ink only when printing to save ink. I like how small and durable the printer is, and I have been able to move it around the room. It has a USB wire, so I am able to connect it to my desktop and laptop when I like. This is my favorite feature of this printer. The paper comes out smoothly, and I haven't had any problems with the paper getting stuck inside the printer so far. I'm very satisfied with this printer, and it lives up to my expectation of hp printers. Great product!

Wireless is the way to go with the HP 6988

By

from Sioux Falls, SD

Comments about Hewlett Packard Deskjet 6988dt InkJet Printer:

It is a little complicated to set it up with your wireless network (i.e. you have to manually connect, or use a flash drive initially).  If you read the instructions, there should be no problems.   I had it up and connected in less than 15 minutes.   The print quality is average - about what you would expect from a household printer.  Same with the print speed.   It doesnt burn through the ink too fast - I've had mine a little over a year and a half, and I am still on my first full-sized print cartridge.  (I usually only print 4-5 items per week, but they are usually full color).    The time it takes to power on and fully connect to the network usually varies from 15-20 seconds.   Not much of a hassle, and fully worth the wireless convenience.   Ah, yes....the wireless connection -- by far the best feature on this printer. This printer is very easy to install on your computer by using the "Add a Device" wizard in "Devices and Printers" under the control panel.    It is energy-star qualified, and it works very well with Windows 7.   Great for occasional printing - with the ease of wireless connectivity.   If you use your printer heavily, you might want to invest in a more advanced printer.
