Tired of paying for ink? Get a laser printer.

I got a great deal on this printer.  Even at its' original price it is still a good deal.  Sure, laser printers cost more upfront and it seems more expensive to keep them running with toner costing $80 or so.  If you feel this way, keep track of how many pages you get per dollar in an inkjet.  Even if you use the high estimate you get from the cartridge package, you still come out ahead with toner.  A laser printer will pay for itself the first time you have to buy toner.  I was getting 35-40 pages from a black ink cartridge if I was lucky.  So far I've gotten 1400 pages out of my black... review »

A fantastic color printer for the price.
Home office user, cost-conscious

The HP Color LaserJet 2605dn has been a great addition to our home office. It has high quality output, runs sufficiently quickly, and is quiet (the prior HP printer we had could wake up the dead when it started churning in the middle of the night). While the price on the printer is all right, the cartridges do run out quickly and are expensive, so plan accordingly by using draft mode when possible and keeping the next set of carttridges on hand! Other than that, it's been a great addition to the office!

This is a great printer from the industry leader.  The 2605 is fast and reliable.  It takes 4 toners (black, and 3 color) so you only replace the one you need to, not all of them.  Cost per page and quality are excellent.  The only con is the first page print time (about 30 seconds).  I run mine on our network.  The software that came with the printer automatically found the printer and set it up on the computer.   A great buy!

Great printing but slow at printing

I have been in an office recently working with this printer - it prints out awesome but it is a slow printer with expensive cartridges - it takes 4 at a time at a cost  of 75 to 85 each to have color and black.
