Hewlet Packard HP Inkjet "56" Print Cartridge —

If you have a computer and printer set up in your home office, you are likely to use a good bit of computer ink.  My husband has an extra printer set up currently that I had never used before.  Frankly, I wasn't impressed, but it was the only printer in the house at the time and I had no choice.  It uses Hewlett Packard #56 Black Ink.

Hewlett Packard #56 Black Ink for Inkjet Printers

The printer my husband set up for me to use when working on taxes a few months ago is a Hewlett Packard PSC 1210 printer.  He loves it dearly because it also acts as a scanner so I anxiously awaited all the installations.

The ink that this printer uses is Hewlett Packard #56 Black Ink. The cartridges are small and only about an inch and half by one inch.  They come packaged in a blue and white box with the ink cartridge sealed inside a wrapper inside the box.  The ink retails for around $20.00 a cartridge, which isn't too bad considering some cartridges sell for over $30.00.

The #56 Black Ink Cartridge will work in several other printer models such as the HP5550 deskjet, the 7150, 7350 and 7550 Photosmart printer.

My Thoughts on the HP #56 Black Ink Cartridge

I've used this same printer cartridge at work for many years.  HP provides a good product and this ink is coal black, doesn't smear and looks good when printed out on plain white paper or stationary.  The cartridges are designed well and I have never had a problem with ink leaking out of the cartridges.

If you do a lot of printing, the cost can become annoying.  I have found that the Hewlett Packard #56 Black Ink Cartridge is one of the least expensive cartridges out on the market for home use.  It's well worth the investment.

Incidentally, my husband's printer gave me fits that day and I didn't get very far with my project.  I had compatibility issues with the driver and we ended up uninstalling the printer.  That's no fault of the ink though!

Recommend it?  Yes!

Fantastic review... I have also found out that if I keep using the ink it will last and last and last- beyond the low ink indicator.

Good review! What I like best about the HP cartridges is that they last far longer than the printer indicator says they will. One of my pals prints all of her non-pro stuff on "gray-scale", plain paper, every-day, and it lasts even longer.

I just bought an HP printer, haven't taken it out of the box yet. For some reasons, printers intimidate me!
