My favorite quick energy fix is chocolate, now make that Dark Chocolate and add Coconut and I am in Heaven! Mounds made is debut in 1920 by the Peter Paul Candy Company and sold for 5 cents. Then during World War II sugar and coconut was at a premium and so they stopped making other chocolate candy and concentrated on making Mounds. During the following years Peter Paul also introduced the great tastes of Almond Joy and Peppermint Patties.

Sweet and Chocolate

This chocolate bar is perfect for anyone craving chocolate or needing a sweet treat. So many candy bars on the market today are filled with nuts, but not this one. This bar is all about pure sweet flavor and is a great dessert. The outside is a rich and decadent dark chocolate which surrounds the inner core of sweet coconut. I love the blend of the chocolate with the sweet coconut because it satisfies every sweet craving. Each bar is 230 calories and 13 grams of fat, but this is one candy that is worth the splurge. This is one great candy bar, satisfies a craving for something chewy and chocolate at the same time. It's even better frozen on a hot summer day. A good item to use as a RAK on your office workers desk or as a surprize for the mail man/woman. I also like to take them with me in the car on trips, boating, and to other events. I've even made a cake and put them on top of the frosing.

A Mounds bar is a great combination of dark chocolate and coconut, with a perfect crunch of almond. The texture of the coconut filling is the best part.
