Heroes —
Heroes started as an awesome show. I love the super hero concept and all the characters were exciting and new. The story developed well and I felt satisfied and entertained. I anxiously awaited season 2. As season 2 progressed I understood there was a writers strike so I gave it a little slack in my critics eye. Afterall, I still enjoyed the show and wanted to see more. I felt it lacked some of it's original excitement. Now, after the strike, my expectations went up and I feel let down. I feel that the characters are not getting anywhere. I feel that there is too much back and forth from the past to the future that half the time I don't know where we are. Am I in the present now? Am i writting this review now, or did I write already and am just rediscovering it so I can go back to the past and change it? I mean, I can follow a story very well so I know it's not just me. In fact I have spoken with other Hero watchers and they share my confusiuon. But, we all still watch because despite the confusion and lack of story development being made here, there is still something about Heroes that is very likeable. We all want to see something amazing. We live vicariously through the fire throwing- self heaing- flying heroes that we watch week after week. I want to continue to hope to be surprised by someones actual death. As much as I don't like seeing someone die- It sometimes helps the story because it sets a deep emotion with in you as you watch the story. Everytime a character fake dies- like it happened in the future but I went back to the past to make sure it really doesn't happen- I feel cheated a bit from the emotion I originally had when it happened. Can someone actually really die in this show? Come one now, we can stand to lose a character or two- and I mean like Sylar or someone that we actually care about. I want to feel sad- I want to feel something! And when does Hiro get cool again? Is he starting to be annoying or what? I like the cool future Hiro- can we get to that sometime soon please?
