About Herbal Essences Body Envy Volumizing Mousse
I got five, count em, five Herbal Essences products for $15.00 so I just stocked up on stuff I didn't really need. It was a sale! This product comes in a 6.8 ounce can that looks way too much like the hairspray of the same name (see review). The scent is crazy good. Herbal Essences does do scent well. This smells like oranges and flowers or something but the citrus is what caught me. I love citrus scents. The mouse has the typical trigger spray top and is white and fluffy. Herbal Essence claims that this mousse will give your hair 50% more volume. Oh, come on! In little print, it says 50% more volume when using the Body Envy Shampoo, conditioner, and mousse over just shampoo. Even with the disclaimer, it's bull.
Anyway, the mouse is really fragrant and doesn't make my hair too hard. If I use too much though, my hair feels sticky or tacky after drying. Because I have very long heavy hair, I use a good sized palmful and spread it all through my hair. I then blow dry. I see some volume. My hair isn't dragged down (unless I use too much, then it is tacky and limp) and it has some bounce and lift. It is not 50% more volumized, however. Sheesh. I would say more like 10%.
My Viewpoint
This was only three bucks and it works decently. I doubt I will run out and buy more because I have products that work better for me but, if you are looking for a cheap mousse that smells great and adds a little volume, this one may be for you. I am going with 3 stars and I will recommend it because it is cheap and does work without weighing hair down and making it hard. It does NOT give you 80's big hair though.
