When it comes to zoos, I have the best critic in the world - a toddler. Not only is he picky with a short attention span, but he is the ultimate person to please.
A Quick Overview
Things to Enjoy About the Zoo
1) The Compact Layout is a nice relief - there's a lot of walking, no doubt, but the average adults won't feel exhausted halfway to an exhibit.

read full review »Summertime is a perfect time to gather the family together and enjoy the outdoors at it's best. Sometimes, finding somewhere to go that will be fun for all ages is tough. I suggest trying the Henry Doorly Zoo, located in Omaha, Nebraska. Expanding in great ways year after year, Henry Doorly Zoo has opened up many new sites to see. Whether you have family that loves Tigers, Monkeys, Birds or something more up close, like the petting zoo, Henry Doorly has it for you.
If it is fish you want to see, they have one of the most awesome, up close and personal Aquariums you can see. The sharks, sting-rays,...
read full review »I live in Omaha so I have had the opportunity to go to the Henry Doorly Zoo many times. In fact, we have a pass which is definitely worthwhile. The zoo is great. They are always doing new things to improve it. In the last 2 years they have added the Butterfly Pavillion, the Skyfari and opening soon is the Madagascar unit. My kids love going to the Kingdom of the Nights with the alligators and bats as well as the Jungle. There are also a lot of animals to see outside. The zoo has a train and a tram you can ride around on as well. I would absolutely recommend anyone to see the Henry...
read full review »My family and I love this zoo. It's great because it is open year round. Most of the exibits are indoors so you can go it it's raining or snowing or blazing hot. The Gorilla's are awesome, we love the aquarium with the sharks swimming over your head, and the jungle building is very cool. They also have a nursery so when new babies are born the kids can walk right up to the window and see them. Who doesn't like an animal baby at the zoo. Member pass is the only way to go if you live in the Omaha area.
Our family goes to the Zoo at least 4 times a year. My kids love it and we always discover something new every time we go. This last time we discovered the prairie dog hill. The kids played on it for at least 15 minutes running from hole to hole. They even found a peacock egg. There are so many things to do there, so many games you can make up. It is very convenient to get to.
The Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo is the place to be. Not only can you visit in the warm months, they stay open all year round. This place has something for the whole family. And now with the new Skyfari, you can save your feet and legs a little with an over-the-zoo view. The best place for a day trip with the family.
