Most HelpfulI suppose that my first CLUE should be the name of the show - Hell's Kitchen. Often the name of the show is more "out there" than the show. While I was expecting it to be pretty high energy, I was not thinking this program would be so negative as far as the attitude of the host and his language.
No. I...

Most HelpfulI have watched Hell's Kitchen now for 3 yrs. I can't believe people would go on a show knowing how they will be treated by Chef Ramsey. But, obviously they do. So I enjoy watching these people get blasted as they make mistakes that anyone would make in the pressure cooker that they prepare meals in. Ramsey can be tough but he is also fair. If you do a good job you are told if you can't tie your shoe he lets you know about it.
It's different and toward the end mostly enjoyable. Plus you get a few receipes from the show as well.
My husband and I love this show, and the other one...Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on the BBC channel. They are too funny.
I guess you have to actually be OK with the potty mouth of Gordon Ramsay to enjoy these shows (and we are) I personally think that he's the best part of the show, the real entertainment! The others are just like side kicks or a bit of added comedy to the personality that makes the show work.
The concept...it's a neat idea if you actually stop and think about it. It's a great way to weed out the people that probably wouldn't be able to make it as even a sous chef! And as long...
review »The British born superstar chef is tough but accurate. His tough talking, rough exterior is what it takes to mold this 'green' cooks into the five star restaurateurs they need to be when they reach the finish line. The prize is awesome, the kitchen is hot and so is Ramsey.
OK, I understand we have a desire to be entertained and, currently, we seem to be hooked on reality programs, but who would eat at a place where the head chief is screaming and swaring all the time?
And do the guest come for free or do they pay to be ginny-pigs? I mean if someone where to cut the tip of their finger off in my meal...OMG!!! Is that what they mean by finger-food?
Still, I like some of the tips they do provide and some of the food looks very etible. Gordon Ramsey is "interesting" to watch. I wonder if his mentors reated him like dirt when he was trying to learn his way around the...
review »I only watch a few reality tv shows and this one tops my list. I thoroughly enjoy Chef Ramsay and his no nonsense attitude about cooking. I wish every restaurant I eat at had such a high regard to producing a well cooked well thought out meal. Game play is interesting on this show. Challenges for the contestants are learning experiences and not just exploiting wanna be chefs. When a young aspiring chef is given the option to choose which contestant should be removed from the show, often times he/she is overruled and Ramsay decides who needs to go. That person is typically the one who isn't...
