I am not going to lie, I am a HUGE Hello Kitty fan. So when I got this as a birthday present last year, I was so happy! I plugged it in and immediately tried it out. I love the hello kitty design on my toast! Where I work, everyone already knows I am a huge fan of hers, but now it is even more obvious because I pack my lunch and carry hello kitty peanut butter sandwiches! It toasts very evenly on the bread where the hello kitty design isn't at and it tastes pretty amazing (I don't know about you, but hello kitty things always taste so much better to me anyway.) The design is, of course, very adorable. And it's not a big and bulky toaster so it doesn't take up much counter space if you leave it in the kitchen. Now my toast AND my kitchen look absolutely down right adorable! If you love Hello Kitty or you have a friend who loves Hello Kitty or you even have kids who do, you should buy this because it is well worth it!

We bought this for our daughter to take to college for a quick breakfast in her room or to heat up pop tarts or something. She thought it would be cute to have such a quirky toaster. However, now that she's used it for a semester, she's not too happy with it and would much rather we had bought something more practical and less cutesy. Toasting Evenness It's not reliable. You don't seem to get the same results each time you toast, even if you're toasting the exact same item. Adjustments really aren't easy to make since they don't give you a lot of options. Also, bagels can be tough. Some brands fit but others are too fat for this toaster. And if you cook a few items back to back, then tend to get over done or burnt. Safety Nothing with it from a safety point of view. Just don't plug it in near water. Ease of Cleaning No better or different than most other cheap toasters: just hold upside down over the garbage can and shake. Durability It's lasting okay. Design Cuter on the outside.

Along with other Hello Kitty items, I got this as a gag gift. I love it. It's the first toaster I've seen that has a defroster, which is handy because I freeze all my bread so it stays fresher longer. I purchased two for my friends who also love them. Be forewarned though. If you like completely uniform crisp bread, do not buy this. The part where Hello Kitty's face is, does not toast. I find it appealing because if you make a sandwich with the toasted bread you get crunch and soft. To get the face, the toaster has to be set on high, otherwise it comes out to look like a weird deformed skull or doesn't show at all. I like crisp toast so this wasn't an issue. I did not have to burn my bread like I've seen other people say, to get the face. I've had the toaster for several years and it has never failed, and I've had no issues with it. Usually the other toasters I've bought (My significant other has issues with eating a hello kitty toast) die after two years. It does take longer to toast than other toasters so if you're impatient I don't recommend it. Toasting Evenness The face is not toasted. Safety No safety issues. Ease of Cleaning Simple cleaning just like any other toaster. Durability I've kept and used this toaster longer than any other I've owned. Design It's adorable and much more sturdy than it looks. Solid buttons and lever for pushing down the toast.

My mother purchased this to go along with my other Hello Kitty appliances. It looked wonderful, but overall disappoints on a daily basis. The Hello Kitty head is supposed to be imprinted on the slice of bread. Unless you like burnt toast, you barely see anything at all. Even putting it on the high setting, the imprint is gargled and gross. It's cute in the kitchen, but honestly doesn't do what is pictured.

First of all, this toaster is adorable and irresistible to any Hello Kitty lover, BUT it works great, too. I have had this toaster for over four years, and I am completely happy with its performance. In addition to making toast, it works great with English muffins, crumpets, and bagels. It defrosts, too. Toasting Evenness Everything toasts well. The impression of Hello Kitty's face is only very clear with darker toast, but I have no problem with that. I love the look of the toaster in my kitchen, and so does my granddaughter. Safety I cannot see anything questionalbe about the safety of the toaster. Ease of Cleaning It is very easy to clean. Durability I have had it and used it a lot for over four years, and it still works great. Design I wish that I could rate the design a 10 instead of a 5, but, then, I am a Hello Kitty lover!!!! It is such a cute piece of kitchen decor.

This thing is adorable and I love looking at the outside, but the toast is awful. The outside comes out overdone, and the middle is untoasted, but doesn't really look much like Hello Kitty. It's great if you want another Hello Kitty item for your collection, but awful if you want a yummy breakfast.

I got this toaster about 5 years ago, but after using it a couple times the novelty wore off and it just sat around. However, when I moved into my own place I needed a toaster, and it was the only one I had, so it started getting regular use. After 4 years of toasting, Hello Kitty still works as well as it did that first time I tried it! The Hello Kitty face is not very clear on the bread. Basically all it is is an untoasted piece in the middle of the bread. Sometimes the resemblance to Hello Kitty is clearer than other times, and darker breads will not show Hello Kitty at all. Generally when I toast bread with this, I put it on a low setting, and once it pops up I flip the bread over and put it back in to get the untoasted part a little toastier. Even so, it's a very cute, durable, and reliable toaster! I haven't even had any desire to get a new toaster in all of my years of using this one. Toasting Evenness As mentioned, the Hello Kitty face is simply untoasted bread. So naturally it doesn't toast very well. Safety The outside of the toaster doesn't get hot or anything. Not sure how else to judge toaster safety.

This is a pretty fun gadget - my daughter loves to see the image.  She loves Hello Kitty!  So, basically this is just a toaster that toasts an awesome image on the bread.  Simple and fun.  Yes, white bread is basically the only toast you can use...maybe any other light colored bread, but come on, it's novelty right?  And think about it, for a 2 tone image on bread can you expect a dark image on dark bread?

As you can deduce by the pictures, this toaster is all about the gimmick - not about what it actually does. My wife and I thought it'd be a sweet gift for my little sister, because we figured the expectations wouldn't be too high. It was inexpensive and cute, how could we go wrong? Well, by chosing a product that doesn't work, we did. Let me start by saying that the gimmick itself is a good one, but it's not enough to make this worth the purchase. First, the toast comes out badly, mainly because it's a low quality toaster, which means that the element doesnt heat up evenly. It's patchy, making the face a bit difficult to distingush. Second, it only works with white bread. Which is fine... if you're not trying to have a healthier diet. Any whole-wheat or whole-grain breads come out practically cold. And third, it's not durable. My little sister loves her toast in the morning, so it was an exciting prospect to eat hello kitty toast every morning. It was exciting... for about a month. After that, the toaster simply stopped working. She would have to stand around holding the button because it stopped doing it on its own.

I didn't buy this because it was cute, no way, i bought it cause i needed a toaster after our old one was shooting sparks and had to be let go due to safety concerns. But it did not hurt that it was so pink and white and cute all over. It has settings for what you want specifically from the toaster including defrosting. It has two very wide spaces for bagels even! BUt if you put slices of bread, you can choose how toasty you want it to come out, you can choose a lighter setting or a darker setting, sometimes I choose the darker setting so that it toasts the kitty face on the toast better. That is another cool thing about this toaster, it prints the face of the hello kitty on your toast! It is pretty exciting, at times it does not show up at all but who cares, you are eating it anyway.
