I was leery about sending my husband to the store to pick up party supplies, but I was sick. And I don't even have time to be sick.

I was pleasantly surprised with his choice of Hefty ZooPals cups and lids. These are cute 8 oz. cups that have animal pictures. The lids are plastic with a sip-type spout, and the lids snap onto the cup fairly easily. Any boys at the party definitely preferred not to have a pink pig, but the white and black panda, brown monkeys and orange leopards were cool for everybody. With many girls at the party, the pink pigs were all taken anyway.

We had tried some ZooPals cups that did not have separate lids at a previous party. The cups had "ears" that stuck up and the top would fold down. They were a little awkward but the kids liked them. At this party, my birthday girl bounced up to me and said, "Hey Mom, I like these cups a LOT better than the other ones."

Several adults came up to me and asked where I got the cool cups. I had to inform them that my husband bought them at Wal-Mart.

I didn't realize this until today, but Hefty has a website that gives the names of the various Zoo Pals plates. I bet my kids will like to see that website.

One other advantage of these cups is that there is a Box Tops for Education coupon on the box, so I can support my children's school as well.

My Viewpoint:

Yes, these cups are more expensive than the plain white ones without lids. We were quite pleased with how excited the kids were about the cups and how nobody had a spill.

Seems like when I find something that works well, they often discontinue it. Oh well. Thanks for reading!

They worked VERY well with toddlers and preschoolers. Our Walmart stopped carrying them May '09. Sigh! Now carry Solo kids cups with straws.

good to know... I'm doing a 3-yr old party next weekend.

I didn't know they came with lids, great for party planning especially with a houseful of preschoolers.

We got some spoons, forks, and knives that are really sturdy that are also ZooPals. The lid thing seems to be new.
