Let's be honest. We always make too much food, and for me, there is always left over pizza that has to be stored. I have shunned just putting the whole box in the fridge, and have started to really rely on Hefty's One Zip storage bags as my crutch. Easy to use, and completely hassle free, it has become a regular kitchen tool for me.
This particular version of the Hefty One-Zip is their 1 gallon size, that holds a lot of food at one time. With measurements listed at 10 9/16 by 11 inches, you are getting a rather large sized bag that can hold a lot of food (especially pizza). Just about $2.00, which is less than ZipLoc charges for the same size bags, you can get a box of 17 one gallon bags. Not a bad price if you ask me, and a product that you will see pays off in the end to have in the cupboard.
The box is easy enough to open, and when you do so, you see how easy it is to pop out one bag and close the box back up. The bags themselves have a slider on the top that is easy to grasp, and runs from one side of the bag to the other. Gripping the slider, you can slide it to the opposite end to pop open the bag, and after making sure to fully open the inside with your hand, it is ready to have all of your leftovers dropped right in there.
On the outside of the bags, they have denotations of which side the slider should be if it is open or closed, and a large area where you can write down what the contents are, and the date that you placed them in the bag. I don't tend to use the bag to write down the contents, because they are almost entirely transparent, and typically i know exactly what I have in the bag by sight. This way I can have a few of them in the fridge at the same time, and still be able to keep all of my foods in different bags without confusion. They are of course very successful in the fridge, but can also be stored in the car, bathroom, or any other location where you want some air-tight protection.
The bags themselves are very easy to use, and extremely durable when it comes to protection of your contents. You don't have to just store food, as I have used them to pass through airport security with stuff like electronics and such. They also hold up well under duress, and keep their solidarity even when you have liquids within the bag. The airtight construction will hold just about anything you task it with, and as long as you keep them closed, you will get ideal results. Cheaper than many of the other brands out there, Hefty has really come through with a great product for storage, and one which I give my full recommendation.
