The combo pac that I purchased for under $20 comes with a pair of glove-like hand weights with one-pound end caps; one set of two-pound add-on weights, a workout and instruction guide, and an offer for a $4.99 "WalkPlus" DVD offer.
The main reason I selected this over standard hand dumbbells is because of the padded grip. With multiple sclerosis, my grip is often quite weak and I was afraid that I would end up accidentally dropping the weight on my foot. In contrast, the Heavyhands weight has a thick foam handle that fits your hands like a glove. It gave me a sense of security that I could use the weights without worrying about them falling out of my hands.
In addition to standard weight lifting exercises, the weights can be used while walking and aerobics to help burn more calories, faster. You can vary the intensity of your personal workout by adjusting the weights, range of motion, and tempo. Because of my limitations I don't use the weights in combination with other aerobic activities, but I can easily see how they would add an additional edge to a total body workout.
Overall, HeavyHands provides me with the extra grip I need to make the most of my workouts with more variety and less fatigue.
