Heartgard Plus Chewables —

I have given my dogs heartguard for years and I never buy it from the Vet.  They are so overpriced.  I found a place on line where it is so much more reasonable and with 4 dogs i have to watch my pennies.

I had two dogs get heartworms many, many years ago and was able to save both of them but that is not an experience I would want to go thru again.

I checked out Interceptor on the web and it doesn't have anything about flea and ticks just heartworm. It is the same price I pay for Heartgard and I don't need a Rx from the Vet (which they don't like to give you) since I buy out of the US.

Hello Jackerman. The stuff I recieved from the vet is Interceptor. I'm not sure if it's one of those things only vets have or maybe even a trial thing. But it does seem to work. Barkley gets ticks but he did with heartgard too just because we visit a tick infested place, but he's never gotten sick. And no fleas ever! I'm not sure how much I paid for it. Hope that helps.

Hi Jazzy,

Is this a Heartguard product?? I use Heartguard and frontline for the fleas and ticks. If this stuff really works it could be quite cost effective. Sure would like some more info.

thanks, jackerman

I've always gotten these chewables for my dog. But the last time we went he gave us some new stuff that had tick and flea killer in it and it wasn't chewable. My dog hates pills but he actually took it like a chewable and ate it!
