Heartbreakers is all about a mother/daughter team whose sole source of income comes from scamming men. Their trick is basically as follows:

The mother gets the guy to fall in love with her, they get married. Her daughter, Page, is put in place to seduce the guy after the wedding, and of course he falls for it. Than he gets caught, they get divorced, and the mom and daughter team get a lot of money. That's just the beginning!

Sigourney Weaver & Jennifer Love Hewitt play the mother/daughter team. These two actresses are perfect together. You would almost think they really were mother and daughter, especially when it comes to Jennifer's smoking habit. Sigourney tries all kinds of different accents and characters she uses to trick the guys. She has taught her daughter most the tricks of the trade, but Jennifer still has a lot to learn!   They live their lives along with the rich and famous, and never work a day in their lives. Well, unless conning is a new career choice...

The main plot begins when something goes terribly wrong! (I'm not going to tell you what though! ) As the movie progresses, it is hard to tell who is scamming who, which makes it all the more fun.

Gene Hackman is another main actor in the movie. He is a chain smoker, and they really did a good job of making him look disgusting. Yuck!

Jason Lee (I), from movies such as Dogma and Almost famous, plays another one of the innocent victims, who is only trying to be nice to Jennifer, no matter what she does to him.

Ray Liotta plays the target of the girls at the beginning of the movie. Don't worry, he comes back for more later! He's a little nuts in the movie which certainly adds to the humor.

Of course there is a little plot in this movie besides what I said above, which is why you will have to see it. You learn why Sigourney got into the conning business, and you'll also get a few tips on getting free meals! Soon Page wants to go into the business on her own, but can she hack it??

Even though this is a comedy, it leaves you guessing at the end as to whether or not it will be a happy ending. That just gives you another good reason to rent this tonight.

As for my one con, the commercials lead me to believe there would be many guys who they would trick throughout the movie, but they focused on only a few. I would have enjoyed seeing more scams and more guys to see exactly how well these two can con men.

It probably is a girly concept, but I'm sure the guys would like it too. You may be waiting for laughs at parts, but it is classified as romantic comedy, so be patient. The laughs are around the corner!  Enjoy!
