I have been on the Smart for Life program for about 4 weeks now and I have lost 21lbs. It was a little difficult for the first week or so but after that, my coworkers starting asking me the whole "have you lost weight?" question. There s no better motivation than noticable results. The program consists of eating a cookie every 2-3 hours with an 8oz glass of water and having a sensible dinner. They also have so many other prducts like bagels, a granola type pack, muffins, soups, shakes, sauces for meats, etc. Oh, and the best part about the cookies besides the price is that they are all natural and like 60% organic. I know I sound like a salesperson but thats the least thatr I can do after what they are doing for me. I'm sure that they can explain it to you much better than I can, I don't know their 800# but I'm sure you can find it on their website. I think it's smartforlife.com. Hope it works for you.

I too have done Smart for Life.  I started the program 1 year ago today. I lost 60 lbs. The best part is I have been able to keep it off.  If I find myself getting off track...I just make  a appointment to go weigh In.  If I need to I can get a few packs of cookies to keep in the freezer.  The counselors there are so motivating.  I remind myself of the changes in my life that I have made.  I continue to use the occasional cookie. I actually like them.  There great as a snack or if I am to busy to have lunch.  The one thing that is really important is that I never go more than 3 hours with out having something to eat.  I have family and friends who also have been successful on this program. The web site is smartforlife.com.

Is this the Cookie Diet? When I was on the Florida east coast in the spring it was all over the radio. Did they expand (if it is the same) from just cookies to these other items or is this a take off on the Cookie Diet? Jo just curious...

I did the diet also, in their Jupiter center. Smart For Life program was and is so convenient and easy. I lost 25 pounds in 21/2 months and have kept it off. I still use their products to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I travel on the road and usually do not have time to eat or I was eating junk food on the run. Now with their cookies, shakes and muffins, I can keep it interesting. They have other products on their diet like bagel chips, granola, organic sauces, etc. The support is incredible and I feel I've truly learned how to keep this weight off. I would definately check the website at smartforlife.com. There are lots of success stories!

I have lost 30 pounds on thie program, It has been a really long time since I have felt this good.  Any diet takes discipline and that is we need when we get so overweight.  I think this program is great for everyone because it is easy and effective.  Smart for Life keeps you motivated when you see the quick results.  The cookies are 60% organic and they taste good.  Once you have reached your goal the maintenance part is easy.  This program teaches you portion control and to make right choices.  I love Smart for Life, it changed my life and it can change yours to !

Just remember that it is a matter of calories. I have never tried the diet but I can tell you what I wrote about it This plan has you eating six cookies and a balanced dinner. It's recommended that you eat one cookie every two to three hours. These cookies are also intended to curb you appetite; are 60% organic and have no preservatives. The flavors are
chocolate chip, piña colada, Boca banana, Maine blueberry, cinnamon oatmeal raisin, and garden pizza.

Each cookie has 105 calories times 6 equals 606 calories.

The bottom line is if you only eat 606 calories until 6:00p.m. and eat a sensible diet you'll lose weight. It doesn't matter if it is cookies or yogurt. I do realize that they say they control your hunger. Do they really or are you drinking more water or just so determined because you are on a controlled diet that you aren't thinking about your hunger. I'm really curious. I have got to lose weight. I was a personal trainer. I know everything I write but at 57 it just won't come off. I love sweets so maybe just being able to eat 6 cookies until dinner will work.

Of course there is the banana diet which has you eating a bunch of bananas and then dinner. Same premise and I find bananas filling:) Jo

Congrats on your weight loss. Again I just have to remind others that 52 weeks times 2 pounds a week (take out 500 calories a day and add 500 calories of exercise and that's 2 pounds a week and you would have lost 104 pounds. Just wanting to keep this real as Dr. Phil says. Sorry if my math is off - I'm tired, I've been writing all day, and I haven't even turned the lights on in my house!

My husband and I are both on the   Smart for life diet and doing great.  Not only are we losing weight but my husband is a diabetic and has not had to take any insulin since we started the diet.  My question to everyone is where is the best place to buy the products individually. We ordered our initial package from Costco, but now just would like to try the muffins and bagels.  Can anyone advise?  Thanks

I started the Smart for Life program over a month ago.  I followed the rules and ate the cookies, which by the way are terrible.  So as the weeks went by and as I forced myself to eat the "cookies" I only lost 4, yeah count them 4 pounds. I am so upset with myself for believeing for one minute that I could lose weight with out following the basic rules. EAT LESS EXERCISE MORE. My doctor warned me about this gimick and now I really wished I would have listened to her.  I guess after losing $300 and only 4 pounds I will have to get off my butt and do it the old fashioned way.

I think that all diets are based on the principle of eating less and exercising more but they try to make it painless. The fact is, if you eat less, make good choices, and exercise - even a walk - you'll lose weight. If a certain diet works for some, that's great (as long as it's healthy). The problem is AFTER the weight loss. Many people go right back to old eating habits and gain all the lost weight back. That is why I strongly believe that people need to adopt a lifestyle not a diet. A diet is a good jump start but learning what to eat and how much and moving that booty is what will keep a person fit and slim forever. Just my 2 cents. :)

I was diagnosed with PCOS over two years ago. I gained a considerable amount of weight in a very short amount of time. Unfortunately it took me a few Dr'"S appointments to get a correct diagnosis. As soon as I was put on hormones I started to lose the weight. Now I am at a point of being sick of measuring every friggin thing that goes in my body. So I decided to start Smart For Life. From the research I read it seems to be sound if followed as intended. In just two days I feel better. Not from losing weight, but from not weighting food, reading labels, and writing everything down that I eat. Hopefully I will lose weight as well. I will keep my results posted.

Just started today. Anyone have suggestions on how to make the chocolate chip cookies more palatable? I have them in the freezer, as the website suggested, and am trying to remain optimistic. Tomorrow is a new day... and hopefully you can help me find a way to get those chocolate chip packs down. I hope this works.

Warm the cookies in the microwave for about 8-10 seconds. Go to your market (or a smart for life office) and buy walden farms sugar free calorie free jams...i love the rasberry. Put it on top of the cookie, it can be melted with the microwave or cold.....

I have a question...I have been on the diet for 5 weeks, have lost about 10 lbs...I have 10 to go...I do the medical plan which is 800 calories per day.....thats when you need to be followed by their dr.
Anyway, I love coffee, and you are allowed coffee, I drink decaf. But i am missing like crazy a little creamer. Anyone find that it inhibits your weight loss?

Today is my first day on the SFL program. So far so good.  My challenge will come this evening when I am home. I can do pretty well if I pack my food with me. I will have to pray that I am able to resist the temptation when i come home.

How is your diet going?

Hi all -- I'm on my 2nd week of this diet and have lost 9 lbs. already. I LOVE the cookies, esp. the chocolate ones. I plan on ordering a 21-day kit from Coscto after my 30-day one is finished.

A little background on me, I'm 30 years old, 5'8", and 164 lbs as of this morning. :) I started the diet at 173lbs.  I had 2 babies in 3 years, so my goal is drop the excess baby weight and return to my pre-pregnancy weight. I've never had a weight issue in my life, until now! I find this diet ridiculously easy to follow and the cookies are filling and satisfying. I eat a salad with no-calorie dressing plus a Lean Cuisine for dinner. Anyone else eat a Lean Cuisine? I'm worried that carbs in them may inhibit future weight loss...but the instructions on the Smart for LIfe website say it's ok as long as the carb count is under 40 grams per serving.

This is a crock of crap.  Don't waste your hard earned money on stupid cookies. Keep your calories under control, exercise and you will lose the weight. There is no secret to losing weight.  Just another fad to rob you of your money

Hi,

I'm just new to the cookie diet but so far it's going well. I'm not being followed by a doctor so I am on the 1200 calorie a day plan which entails of 6 cookies a day along with 8-10 ounces of protein (chicken, turkey, crab etc etc)and 2.5 cups of veggies at night for supper.

I'm on day 10 and I have already lost 8 lbs. I know you aren't suppose to weigh yourself more than once a week but I find it encouraging to step on the scale every other day to see the results.

Prior to starting the diet plan I was ALWAYS hungry. I rarely ate breakfast but by lunch I was starving and would often have a burger and fries or a frozen meal. By 15h00 I would be ravenous again and usually eat a chocolate bar and then supper would be the works, meat, rice or potatoes and veggies and before bed I had to have dessert. Having to eat a cookie every 2 hours has gotten my hunger under control. I haven't been hungry since I started. I feel like I'm constantly eating and there are days I have trouble eating all 6 cookies I always manage to eat 4 but I feel like I'm forcing down the other two cookies most times.

I'm 32 years old have had 2 kids, youngest is soon to be two and I still haven't lost all the baby weight. I started at 188 lbs and my goal weight is 140 lbs. I'm 5'3 so I should actually weigh closer to 120 but I don't want to set unrealistic goals for myself. If I get there great but if I can only get to 140 I'm still going to be thrilled.

The only thing I miss is coffee.....I love me coffee in the morning with 2 sugar and cream....I don't know how much longer I can give it up.

I'm tempted but sooooo scared that this is just yet another gimmick.... and that the only thing I'll REALLY lose is my hard-earned money. Help! I don't know WHAT to do !!

I'm confused.  How many calories is this when you do the full program.  Some have mentioned 500-800 calories.  I thought we were suppose to eat the 6 cookies and the eve meal of the vegs and meat.  I need to find out for sure as I start my program on Friday/  thanks

The 800 calorie plan is when you are followed by a doctor. The 1200 calorie plan which is what I'm on has no medical supervision. I was told that if I had no health issues there wasn't much point to having medical supervision.

You mentioned that you can eat a meal of Veggies and meat. There is no meat allowed on this diet only poultry, certain white fish, trout, tuna a few others, lobster, crab, shrimp, tofu and veggie burgers. No meat what so ever though. The veggies are limited as well, mainly green veggies.

I don't know what wrong with me but yesterday morning when I wrote my post I was feeling great doing great but since yesterday afternoon I'm having a very hard time eating my cookies. This morning I could only stomach 3/4 of a cookie. I bought a 5 week supply......I hope I can at least make it through the five weeks cause if not I've blown a lot of cash for nothing. BUT......I have lost weight, the cookies are just starting to get on my nerves.  :o(

Don't be afraid. I was like that before I started, but believe me it works. Today it is my second week, and I have lost 9 pounds. The first week is hard, but after two weeks you will see the diference. Good Luck.

Hello everybody, I would like to share my story. I did weight watchers for 8 months, and I lost 20 pounds. However, I got so frustated because I didn't lose my weight a lit bit faster, so someone told me about this great program, but I was a skeptical at the begining. I started the program on April 24,2009 with 189 pounds. Today I went to my second consultation and I weight 180. I have lost 9 pounds in two weeks. I am really happy!!! At the begining you feel hungry, but on the second week you don't feel hungry at all. The chocolate chips cookies are really good. To be honest with you this program works as long as you follow it the way it is. I have tried all the diets..But with this program I feel diferent. I would like to lose 30 more pounds. We'll see. I'll keep you posted..

Take care...

Hi Caroli0306,

I don't know if you read my other two post but I'm in my second week as well, day 11 to be more precise. I too have lost 9 pounds so far.

I don't know what your height is but I was 188 lbs when I started on April 26th, 2009. Close to your 189 lbs.

Unlike you I was stuffed right from the get go on this diet. I've had trouble since day 1 getting all 6 cookies down plus eating my meal for supper. The past week I have only been able to eat 4 cookies and half the protien  and less than half the veggie I was told to take (I take 4 ounces and 1 cup of veggie instead of the 8-10 ounces and 2.5 cups) I took the chocolate chip and the oatmeal raisin cookies and at first really enjoyed the cookies but now not only am I full without even eating but the cookies are getting harder and harder to swallow. Today I've had 3/4 of 1 cookie all day and feel no hunger at all and have no clue how I'm going to stuff down my supper tonight. I've called Smart for Life twice to get there opinion on this but they never have any answers for me I always get told someone will call me back.

I'm not giving up cause 9 lbs in 11 days with no hunger at all is great! I still have 41 lbs to go but I need to figure out how I'm going to get back to eating all 6 cookies in a day without gagging. Hopefully I'm just having a bad week and everything will get better next week.

I'm anxious to hear how your next week goes. Keep me posted...we started at the same time at the same weight it will be interesting to compare notes.

Keep up the good work to everyone!
