 Hello:

My Mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and had the option of surgery to remove the tumor in her lung.  She went through the surgery and had to have two lobes of the lung removed.  They did actually catch her cancer in the second stage, which is very good.  They did remove the cancer, and also she had one lymph node that had cancer in it so they had to remove two of the lobes instead of one which they said at the beginning.  The surgery went well they got all cancer in the lung.  Now the cancer doctor says she should do chemo to make sure none of the cancer cells have escaped.  I am hoping she can beat the odds on this one to.  Lung cancer has no symptoms and usually to late when its diagnosed.

My mother is lucky they got it in the second stage.  Now she does not want chemo, which my father went thru as he also has lung cancer and passed away.

What is everyones thoughts on having chemo?  They say she has a better chance of it not coming back but they cant guarantee that.  I watched my father go thru chemo and it was not a good thing to see.

Sorry your mother is going through this.

When it comes to chemo I think it depends on the individual and her/his siutation. I know what I might possibly do for me but that doesn't mean it would be the right thing for your mother.

I would suggest talking to doctors,  and survivors and researching as quickly as possible, including  healthy healing foods and support systems. I hope that helps a little.

Your mother is in my prayers. Many blessings.

Hello LadyMagic:  Thankyou so much for your comment.  Just hearing from someone on this makes a difference.  Its very difficult, but I guess all is in Gods hands.

I'm sorry to hear she is going through this but at least they caught it early.  I've never had chemo and neither has anyone in my immediate family. However, I don't think anyone wants to go through chemo.  If going through the treatments means there's a better chance the cancer will be eradicated I think I would do it myself.
