A new report from the UK is linking cell phone usage with brain tumors that occur later in life. This is another report stating the claim but nothing has been proven yet. What do YOU think?

I think it's certainly possible and, IMHO, probable.  It can't be good to have a cell phone stuck to one's ear all the time. It's the main reason I won't cancel my landline and go 100% cellular.

I agree. I worked for a dental office years ago and there was conversation then about the dangers of the mercury in the fillings. Now, we know just how bad mercury is. I say, "Where there is smoke, there is fire."

Until we know for sure I will limit my cell phone usage...

Apparently the World Health Organization is going to release a 10 year $ 30MM study that definitively links long term cell phone usage to certain types of brain cancers.

With cell phones deeply embedded in our lifestyle it's going to be interesting to see how this report is received by the public, medical community and cell phone manunufacturers.

How prepared are you to alter your cell phone use?  Do you plan to alter their use?

I will let you know if there could be a cause soon. My sister uses a Cell Phone all the time, she is only 51 they are not sure what is wrong with her. On Halloween will be going for an MRI to see if she has a brain tumor. Last year or earlier this year she lost her hearing in her one ear, the one she used her blue-tooth with. If there is a connection, who knows. I do believe personally that there is a connection.

What happened to the old days, if you were out an about well you just waited until you got home and made that phone call. Pretty much pay phones are extinct. People who use them~(cell phone's) have become inconsiderate, and do not pay attention to there surroundings. Not all, but the majority. I have a pay as you go, for emergencies. I only got that because I couldn't find a payphone when I had car trouble. My husband said get one already, so he wouldn't have to worry.

People drive with them, and pay no attention to the cars around them. Seen it far to many times. Or they look stupid walking around in the stores like they are talking to themselves, with blue~tooth in ear. GET A LIFE!!!

I don't have to prepare myself, because I don't rely on it like most people. I only have one, because no payphones are around. If they are, it's far and few in between.

Thanks Meri, I will. And I pray to God that it isn't true. Right now they are not sure what is going on. But now this is inclusion they are thinking of.

Everything is dangerous it seems. I remember people putting aluminum foil around their antennas of the old cell phones to stop the waves from going to their brains. That is not to say it isn't entirely possible that cell phones can cause certain types of brain tumors. I don't use mine much for actual talking on. I text and get my mail and such. I use a landline at home.

Then again, maybe wireless phones are also a problem. If that's the case, I'm a goner. I use my wireless phone all the time.

darlyn63, I sincerely hope your sister is OK!

We are getting a home phone this week.  I couldn't believe it was only 9$ to add on to my bright house cable and internet plan!  This story wasn't the reason, the reason was really because there have been multiple times I called home when I knew my husband was home and he didn't hear the phone.  So today I finally said we need a home phone!  I will try to use the home phone most of the time and get him to use it when he can too.  I'm less worried about myself because I use speakerphone a lot, but I worry more about him b/c he uses the cell phone all the time.

I will keep you up to date, I pray this isn't so. Thanks for your concern PattyTherre and Meri.

There has been talk about this for many years causing brain tumors or cancer. Like I said I just have it for emergency purposes. Otherwise whomever can wait until I get home. Somethings are just left better the old fashioned way. I like the computer, but as far as having all the gizmo's and gadgets. I like my kitchen gadgets...lol...

I have to try and keep my sense of humor, and busy with work....Otherwise I would be going nuts all the time. Plus it doesn't make it any easier she is in another state. Atleast not that far...Have to keep an upper chin.
