Hawaii Air needs to retrain their customer service agents on how

Hawaiian Airlines — 

 I was trying to get to Hawaii with my wife and we were flying Delta on a company pass from Atlanta as I am a retired airline employee.We could not get on any Dl flight and my son got on the internet and found Hawaii Air with seats available from Pdx to Hnl,so I call Res and the price was close to what was on the internet and I say okay and the guy in reservations says my tickets will be on hold in Pdx the next morning.I offered to give him my credit card #but he says just to pay in Pdx on Thursday morning as this is Wednesday,May 21st.We go to Dl counter and change our passes to Pdx and leave at 845 est,When we arrive in Pdx the hawaiian air counter is closed,so we go to our hotel spend the night and arrive at their counter  7AM ON THE 22ND.We were then informed that our res had been canx as we had not picked up our tickets by 2130 on the 21st.We were in the air between Atl and Pdx at this time.The counter agent informed me that they had seats but the cost would be twice as much as I was quoted,his exact words were you can pay it or stay here.We had to get there to catch a cruise,so he had me over a barrell.We paid by credit card and I had planned on canx the charge as soon as we got to Hnl,but a very nice lady in accounting for Hawaiian Air took care of the cost for us,she was the firts person that showed me any campassion .We will not fly on this airline again or recommend them to anyone.I spent 25yrs in the airline businee and I do know what is good customer service and what is not.They were wrong and the nice lady in accounting knew it

They righted their wrong though and fixed the charge. Most airlines will refuse to do that and keep your money. Hawaiian Airlines wins awards for customer service! So you ran into an angry employee in Portland, they're EVERYWHERE for EVERY AIRLINE! And just like you they have their good days and bad days as people. I've flown Delta and had the same problem. Your justice in not flying Hawaiian is childish.
