Hasbro Transformer Action Figures Review Summary

The Hasbro Transformer Action Figures hit the stores with the release of the new movie last year. They are good quality toys and are true to the original transformer toys that emerged in the 1980's. The problem, however, is that reviewers all agreed the newer transformer toys are much more difficult to transform from one thing to another. Even adults had a hard time changing these toys into their new form. It was especially difficult for young children to move the body and car parts. This is the reason the Hasbro Transformer Action Figures only received a 3.33 star rating.

A great line of new toys that pays a true homage to the originals from the 1980's. With the release of the movie these toys fall in line with the new rebirth of a great toyline.  The parts seem to be of quality and good design.  The higher end toys are very nice and if you can find them at a discounted... read full review »

Transformers are a great toy for children 6 or older, but if you have younger children I would advise not to get them as pieces do come off and can be a choking hazard. Also some of the different characters are difficult to transform and cause your child to be frusterated.

My son adores the Transformer action figures, animated style!  They are very cool, but they are hard to transform.  Preschoolers can not do this without an adult.  Pieces can snap off easily also, be warned if you have small children.

my son who is four years old loves transformers. however they are very time consuming to parents. the "skill level"  for some of these toys is level 1. my husband and i have a hard time changing them from one transfomation to the next and then back again. the instruction are horrible. its just a small picture and not a very good detail. how is  a four year old suppose to do this on his own. the higher the level the harder the transformer. we bought the big transformer and it really took hours transforming him from robot to big eighteen wheeler. and then, of course, back to truck. needless to...

I have an assortment of transformers from Hasbro, and all of them have never had any problems at all. Most of them are easy to transform, but some of the more recent ones are harder and more challenging, which is good. I have found that the longer you play with them, the eaiser it get to transform them. The movie deluxe series is the best yet. All the toys in the series are 10 dollars at wal-mart. The coolest thing about the new ones is that the weapons don't stay seperate, when you transform the robots into vehicles, the weapons store away so you don't lose them.

So we bought a "bumbblebee" transformer for our 4 year old son to play with.  Well I remember the transformers being EASY to transform, but let me tell you something.....I'm in my late 20s and I had a hard time trying to get him from transformer to car and back again.  I think that in the future if I buy it I'm going to just leave it in the package and maybe save it for a rainy day.

Like many other children, my son loves Transformers, but these would be better left locked in one form, possibly sold as two toys that are in the different forms, and theoretically transform into one another.  My five year old never succeeded at transforming them, they were just way too difficult.  Instead, the toys were brought to me.  Bumblebee was not too bad, although the parts tend to fall off (package warns that these toys are designed to come apart and be re-attached).  However, the Megatron Activator toy is still defying my efforts to transform it even once, 45 minutes after my attempt...
